Team News
Juventus
Man City
- Juventus are unlikely to have Martin Caceres available as he nurses a knocks, while Sami Khedira has been training away from the main group over the last week and Hernanes is suspended having been sent off in their last Champions League outing.
- Patrice Evra has recovered from a knock and is included in the squad.
- Juan Cuadrado may miss out on a starting berth for the second game in succession with Stephan Lichtsteiner likely to get the nod. Juventus could revert to a 3-5-2 formation here.
- Manchester City will be without Wilfried Bony and Samir Nasri for the trip to Italy and Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala and Pablo Zabaleta will also not travelled.
- This means that Martin Demichelis will continue at the heart of their defence and Bacary Sagna at right-back, despite admitting he was still troubled by the events in Paris.
Forza Juve
Sandro is one of the best transfers of this season.
Hey City fans, i guess this was also a fluke win for Juve as well?
@Footballfanatic66 To be fair to City they actually played alright last night. I think they got their tactics right which had not been the case previously. Juve have finally found some form and there won't be many teams who would find it easy in Turin.
@Footballfanatic66- City attacked well, from what I saw- I watched the Utd game like an idiot, but defended like a Sunday league team. Maybe it was different over the full 90? City had a few efforts which should've gone in, the Fernandinho blast from 7 yards before Juve scored and Sterling's ueber-fail the pick of em. Hart made a couple of important saves though so from what I saw, a draw would've been fair.
@SteveHyland by the way, didnt you say you watch man united match? Ya, you arent at all biased.
@SteveHyland oh shut up. Youre so biased, how about you mention Juves chances. JUVE HAD 5 shots on target vs 2. You wanna play by who had which chances? Fine then, if Juve had converted their chances it woulda been at least 3-0 easily.
@SteveHyland draw will be unfair for juventus actually. Juve created chances much better than Man City. Juve has more shoot on target than City, not to mention off target too. Morata lob was wide, and the follow up tap in from sturaro hit the side bar. Lieschteinner lob blocked by hart, Mandjukic shoot was blocked by hart too. Both team has their chance, juve can optimize their chance while man city can not. Its simply juve won the game, edge the game, and came out better than manc city. That is something you have to appreciate.
I don't know why, but this team of Juventus reminds me Chelsea several years ago... A bus in front of the goal who can only score on counter-attack
@Ouftey there's big difference between past chelsea with current juve. First, Most of juve attack is built from back. Buffon throw the ball to defender and then start to built attack with combination of short, long, cross, one two. Second The way juve defend its not park the bus as chelsea did. Juve didn't sat deep in their defence. If you see juve, Juve defense line was always in the middle between penalty box with halfway line. the defense is started from attacker chasing the ball, and midfielder pressurizing Man City players by closing down opponents using one/two players. Park the bus means that you'll put almost whole team sitting deep inside their defense. The defense line will be closer to GK. And midfield line will be closer to defense line. So no space allowed between defense & midfield. one striker left alone for counter attack. Park the bus will let opponents to built attacks invite them to come inside while they wait deep inside to do quick sudden counter attacks.
@Ouftey Maybe it looks like counter attacks as City can't defend, but most of their attacks weren't from counter attacks
@QuantumDuck Maybe, I hope Kompany will be back soon, City could be a great team if their defense wasn't so poor...
@Ouftey- Fernando is useless too and Fernandinho is a box to box player not a sitting DM. Pellegrini has made some suspect signings since taking over and he is paying the price for it in Europe.
Sterling is ridiculous!!!! What a moron! :-D Anybody else here feels the need to puke watching City play? This is worst rich soccer team ever!
Pogba is really impressive. Now I know where his hype comes from.
LOL Otamendi, what a wuss, I thought he was tough ...
@QuantumDuck Otamendi looked good in Valencia's uber-defensive tactics. Playing for a big team wthat has to attack, his shortcomings become obvious
@QuantumDuck- He looked tough in La Liga last season but that says more about that league than him.
@SteveHyland I will always remember his groundbreaking performance in Germany vs. Argentina 4-0 in 2010 where he wasn't able to stop Podolski on the left wing. Not once on 90 minutes.
@BeautifulLoser- I remember the game well, not sure if WhoScored was around then but I dare say Otamendi would've received a sub-3 rating.
@QuantumDuck Otamendi has always been a wuss.
Sandro has Navas in his back pocket
Forza Citizens!!!
Juve win certainly
I can't see anothing other than a draw here tonight 1-1
@daniel.blummers LOL Juve will win, again.
Forza Juve
JUVE WIN
Momentum is on Juventus and this game could help them win the group. But I believe Juve will play 4-3-3/ 4-5-1 with well rested Cuadrado and Morata as wingers like in previous fixture of these teams. This would help defending against City's wingers and shut down the center as well. Juve to win with one goal, possibly 2-1.
1-2 aguero 2gol
@agungero_kun_nerazzuri nah
Juventus are very strong at home and they also beat Manchester City away in the last meeting. Manchester City's confidence will be low after being hammered by Liverpool 1-4 although they will be looking for a response. However Manchester City's defence proved insufficient against Liverpool with the players they are missing. With the attacking quality Manchester City I still do expect Manchester to score. 3-1 to Juventus.
Man City will be desperate to make up for their recent EPL losses and they have the talent to do it. Juve should expect a tough game. Nevertheless, Juve should be able to win or draw. I sense a Pogba or Morata goal coming. Forza Juve.
man city is desperate.. aguero half injured, kompany out, silva out, pellegrini who is only sitting on the bench with no flair and jelling (inspiring), playing abroad, lost against liverpool, how do they even think about a single point in Turin. LOL!
Simple game-plan for City, do exactly what Juventus did at the Etihad. They have pace in wide areas and, providing Aguero plays, the quality up front to finish counter attacks. If Juve want to win the group, they will need to win this game and that could provide openings for de Bruyne and Sterling. They just have to make sure they aren't as wasteful as they were at the Etihad. I'm going to predict 2-2. City's defence sans-Kompany is a joke but I do think they'll be able to exploit Juve's attacking- provided they don't score first and defend the 90 minutes themselves in typical Italian fashion.
3-1 juventus,city will qualify.
3 - 1 Juventus Win (y)
3 - 1 Juventus Win (y)
1 - 1 Draw :p
FORZA JUVEEEEEEEE
If Man City aim to win this group beside advancing, they will win this match. However, City have serious matches in PL and they don't likely to give too much in a game with teams like Juventus. It could end up in a draw or a one goal win for either side.
City 3 - 1 Juve City deserved to win the first game... If it wasn't for Sterling's poor finishing and Buffon's incredible goalkeeping. City will defeat Juventus.
@iMachEEch even ur mom knows, city cant compete with juve.
@iMachEEch "IF" with a bunch of "IFs" Juventus could also won that game by 10-0, and also go undefeated this season.. :)
Fino Alla Fine, Forza Juventus !!!
