Team News

  • Eric Abidal has been getting a significant amount of playing time at the end of Barcelona's domestic season and he may be ready to start at left-back.
  • Carles Puyol is set to return at centre-back alongside Gerard Pique.
  • Sergio Busquets is likely to be preferred of Javier Mascherano is the defensive-midfield role.
  • Darren Fletcher has been passed fit to play, although he make have to start on the bench.
  • Sir Alex Ferguson may opt for the experience of John O'Shea at right-back.
  • Wayne Rooney is set to play behind Javier Hernandez in attack.
  • Ryan Giggs, who has been at the centre of a press injunction this week, is likely to be pushed into a central-midfield role, while Ferguson utilises the work-rate of Park Ji-Sung on the wing.
  • Antonio Valencia may be preferred on the right flank to Nani, as the Portuguese midfielder has been inconsistent towards the end of the season.

Prediction

  • WHOSCORED.COM PREDICTS: Sir Alex Ferguson would have learned from his mistakes two years ago in the final between these two sides. The Scot admitted going a goal behind early on hindered his side, so expect a cagey opening from United. Barcelona rested several key players towards the end of their campaign after wrapping up the title, so the likes of Lionel Messi, David Villa and Xavi should be fresh for this clash at Wembley. Pep Guardiola's side are favourites heading into this game, and United will need to keep their discipline as they are likely to have the minority share of the possession. Ferguson's side are weakest at right-back, and this could prove a problematic area for them. This has the hallmarks of a tight final, but Barcelona have the edge in terms of keeping the ball and picking out the crucial passes. Wayne Rooney has to be careful not to drop too deep as he could isolate Javier Hernandez, which will make life easier for Barcelona's defence. Difficult to call, but we're backing a Barcelona win 1-0.

  • I told you 3-1, I am the special one!

  • Barcelona will probably raise the cup but this is football, sometimes something happens..

  • Kassai to officiate Wembley final

  • 3-1 Barca

  • Go Barca!!!

  • Barcelona will keep the ball and we ll see all Man U defending like crazy, trying to counter attack whenever they can. Depends on if they can get the ball to the wingers and they have better wingers than Inter did last year. They also have Rooney and Hernández to finish. They will have a couple of chances, we ll see if they can take them but I m sure Pep can make this analysis too so they be ready for this. Really though match. I just know that we won't see a lot of goals in 90 minutes. Actually I say: 0-0

  • I cant see barcelona beating manU without "making them" red carded.

  • Previous meetings looks interesting. 1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss for both sides...
