Prediction

  • The first of two derbies this weekend, and after Lyon dumped Les Verts out of the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday, Christoph Galtier will be hoping to extract some sort of revenge in the Derby du Rhone.
  • St-Etienne find themselves with the better league form of the two sides, both have won two from the last five but St-Etienne are unbeaten during this period.
  • They have struggled to score goals after losing a few attacking options this summer. Laurent Battles has stepped up with a few goals recently but they really need a constant threat up top.
  • With most of Garde's players recovered from injury, it will be interesting to see what he thinks is his best XI. Bafe Gomis has to be in the side and the former ASSE player will be keen to get one over his former side.
