Team News

  • After the defeat to PSG Laurent Founier could make a couple of changes to his side.
  • Young forward Yaya Sanogo is pushing for a start again and could replace Anthony Le Tallec upfront.
  • The midfield trio of Kamel Chafni, Kossi Prince Segbefia and Delvin Ndinga is likely to be unchanged.
  • Founier’s only problem lays in his defence, with Coulibaly and Sidibe injured, leaving him with little option to make any changes.
  • After the 2-0 win over Rennes it would be surprising to see Rene Marsiglia make many changes to his side.
  • However, he will be forced into one forced change after Xavier Pentecote damaged knee ligaments and will miss the next six months. Either Abraham Guie Guie or the returning Eric Mouloungui will take his place.
  • Didier Digard has started training again but is most likely to start from the bench.

Prediction

  • A crucial game for both teams; Rene Marsiglia can really boost his team's chances of safety with his second win of the season, they would overtake Auxerre and jump clear of the relegation zone with a victory. Confidence will be high after the Rennes victory.
  • Laurent Founier needs to find a way to stop the slide. The form of Alain Traore has coincided with the Burgundy side falling rapidly down the table. With important players missing it is time for the youngsters to step up and be counted.
  • Back in 2008 it took a 29th minute goal from Alaeddine Yahia to lead Nice to an away victory. The away side haven’t won at the Stade Abbe Deschamps since that day, with Auxerre running out 2-0 winners in the two games since then.
  • Last season Valter Birsa and Benoit Pedretti got the goals as 9,200 fans watched the home side pick up all three points and overtake Nice in the league standings.
  • WHOSCORED.COM Predicts: Nice win 1-0
