Marseille
- Rennes could give new signing Mevlut Erding a start up front in place of Montano.
- After tweaking his knee against Caen, Vincent Pajot is expected to be fit for the game against Marseille.
- Benoit Costil will miss two games after his horrible challenge against Ajaccio. Young keeper Abdoulaye Diallo will take his place in net.
- Rennes will be without Kader Mangane, Youssouf Hadji, Jonathan Pitroipa, John Boye and Cheick Diarra as they are playing at the African Cup of Nations.
- Although Marseille's side is very depleted the starting XI is still strong. The 4-2-3-1 formation has been working well and is likely to continue.
- Stephane Mbia will be out for a month after suffering a thigh injury in midweek. Marseille are very low on centre-backs, if fit, Rod Fanni could cover in the middle.
- Andre-Pierre Gignac is still not fit enough to be part of the squad.
- Deschamps will be without Charles Kabore, Souleymane Diawara, Jordan and Andre Ayew as they are playing at the African Cup of Nations.
