Team News

  • Injured at the weekend, Steven Mouyokolo and Yassin Mikari will not be part of the squad against Lille.
  • There is better news though, in that Sebastien Roudet and Sebastien Corchia will return to the squad and could start.
  • Yoan Collas has been called up as cover for Pierrick Cros in goal.
  • It seems that Modibo Maiga has recovered from malaria after tests on Tuesday morning, he won’t make the team though.
  • Brazilian Carlao will miss up to four weeks with a hamstring injury.
  • Up front, Rudi Garcia has to choose between Dimitri Payet or Joe Cole. After Cole started against Lorient, it could be Payet who gets the nod on Wednesday.
  • Injured during the warm-up against Lorient midfielder Florent Balmont is not available for the Sochaux game. Pape Souare will take his place in the squad.
  • Marko Basa and Tulio de Melo are still unavailable due to injury.

Prediction

  • Called off at the last minute at the start of February, this game has become of serious importance to both sides but for very different reasons.
  • The home side currently find themselves at the bottom of Ligue 1. On a positive note they are only two points from safety, though in reality they haven’t won a league game in the last ten attempts. Not the sort of form you want before facing the champions.
  • Lille currently occupy the last Champions League place, with a slender three point gap separating Les Dogues from the closing pack every win at this stage of the season is critical and Rudi Garcia will definitely see it as a must win as they travel to face the wounded Les Lionceaux.
