Francis Gillot welcomed back Carlos Henrique, Jussie and Abdou Traore to training this week, while long term injury worry Gregory Sertic was able to resume team training this week.
Marc Planus and Landry N’Guemo miss out through suspension and that should mean Gillot goes back to four at the back for the first time at home this year.
Loic Remy had to come off after 60 minutes against Caen and is a real doubt for Saturday’s game. He didn’t train on Thursday and will be assessed late on Friday.
Suspended for the Caen match Morgan Amalfitano will miss a second game against Bordeaux.
Souleymane Diawara will miss the rest of the season after picking up an injury recently.
Prediction
This is the 118th edition of this fixture. Marseille hold a slight edge with 42 victories; Bordeaux are only two behind, though. Throughout the years this has always been a tough game to call.
The problem for Marseille is they have always struggled to win at the Stade Chaban Delmas. The last time Marseille picked up three points in wine country was way back in 1978. Bordeaux took the lead through Alain Giresse and were pegged back by goals from Marc Berdoll and Victor Zvunka.
Could one of the current crop of Marseille stars step up and fire OM to victory and banish a 35 year drought? Bordeaux might not realise the length of time they have kept Marseille winless, but they will hate to give up their league position to the southerners.
