Team News

  • Arsenal welcomed Bacary Sagna back into the starting line-up against Bolton in midweek and the Frenchman certainly helped to sure up the defence with the team keeping a clean sheet.
  • Theo Walcott stood out in particular for all the wrong reasons in a weak attacking display, overshadowed by Oxlade-Chamberlain on the opposite flank, so Henry and Arshavin will hope to start.
  • The centre-midfield trio of Arteta, Song and Ramsey was restored last time out and should remain in place for some time after Jack Wilshere suffered a stress fracture to his foot, delaying his comeback from injury.
  • Anthony Modeste, signed on loan from Bordeaux, could keep his place up front during the suspension of top scorer Yakubu.
  • Captain Chris Samba has missed the last few games after revealing that he wanted to leave the club, and Steve Kean has confirmed he will not be in the squad once again. With Dann and Givet starting at the back, Bradley Orr could make a debut at right-back ahead of Jason Lowe.
  • Elsewhere, Mauro Formica could return to the midfield in place of Radosav Petrovic, with N'Zonzi dropping into a deeper role.

Prediction

  • Arsenal are yet to win in 2012 in the Premier League, having lost to Fulham, Swansea and Man United before drawing at Bolton this week. In all four of those games, at some point Arsenal have looked the most likely team to win but have come out disappointed each time. They are still having to rely far too heavily on the goals of Robin van Persie, with Walcott misfiring, Arshavin out of sorts, Henry not having much of an impact and Oxlade-Chamberlain playing well but not yet finding the net.
  • However, they may now face the perfect match to change all that, with Blackburn 17th in the table and in all sorts of trouble.
  • Blackburn have won 2 of the last 6 meetings between these sides, but neither of those wins have come at the Emirates. Despite a slight improvement in form of late, namely in that they are 3 games unbeaten away from home (draws at Liverpool and Everton, and a win at Man Utd), it is still difficult to look any further than an Arsenal win to get them back on track.
  • PREDICTION: Arsenal win 2-0

  • Go Chamberlain!!!

  • hallelujah!!!
why those three can play like that every week?!?!

  • If the gunners do fail to win there will be protests for arsene to leave

  • I think Theo will start despite yet another lack-luster display against Bolton. Henry isn't the player he once was and Arshavin is barely a player at all...

  • Blackburn to do the double!! Sneaky 1-0 win. Arsenal are in no sort of form

  • I think Blackburn could be in trouble without their top-goalscorer and ex-captain. They look much weaker without the duo

  • Rovers could struggle without Yak. He's been their main threat in front of goal this year and a pain for Arsenal recently

  • Here's a game arsenal should be winning. RVP's in fine form at the moment and they're at home. Should be a standard 2-0 affair
