Team News

  • Mancini was somewhat fortunate to have barely any injury problems in the first half of the season and the absence of the likes of Toure and Kompany before him has certainly been telling of late, making the mega money squad look a little thin on the ground.
  • The manager therefore made a swoop for Roma midfielder David Pizarro on loan and he could go straight into the side this weekend, though Nigel de Jong will also hope to start.
  • City's once unstoppable forward line has looked a little weak of late, but with Mario Balotelli still suspended, Mancini must stick with Dzeko or change formation to allow the likes of Johnson to start.
  • Steve Sidwell has suffered a hernia injury and will be out for around six weeks, meaning Chris Baird or Dickson Etuhu could take his place in midfield.
  • Martin Jol will hope to have Moussa Dembele back fit for the weekend and if the Belgian returns he could replace Simon Davies in midfield.
  • Bryan Ruiz should keep his place up front ahead of Andy Johnson, though new signing Pavel Pogrebnyak is also an alternative.

Prediction

  • City return to the comfort of the Etihad after their midweek loss at Everton. That was their 3rd loss of the season, all of which have come away from home. They will hope for a less eventful win than the one over Spurs last time out here.
  • Fulham have just 1 away win all season, and though they have drawn 4 of their last 6 away games, they will not hold out much hope of picking up another point here. They have lost target man Bobby Zamora to QPR and that could mean they struggle even more than they would have.
  • City will be determined to get back to winning ways and Fulham are unlikely to be able to stop them
  • PREDICTION: Man City win 3-0

  • Go on Dempsey!

  • City just have too much attacking force for Fulham to handle. This could be a goal-fest

  • If Fulham are to stand a chance Dembele and Dempsey will ahve to be firing on all cylinders, without Zamora they'll have to pick up even more slack for Jol's tema

  • Man City will come out all guns blazing to get ahead in the title arace and put the pressure on ManU to win on Sunday.

  • Time for Ruiz to step up and fill some pretty big boots in his first season
