Team News

  • QPR fans will hope to see their new look strike force in action this weekend, with debut goal scorer Djibril Cisse and Bobby Zamora both available for selection.
  • Fellow newcomers Onuoha and Taiwo, who made their debuts against Villa, should keep their places in the backline, though loan signing Samba Diakite is still at the Africa Cup of Nations with Mali.
  • Two players who have returned to the club from the competition are Armand Traore and Adel Taarabt, whose respective sides (Senegal and Morocco) both exited the competition at the group stages.
  • Mick McCarthy may need to make some bold attacking decisions between now and the end of the season after a run of 9 league games without a win, so he may opt for two up front with Doyle partnering Fletcher.
  • Jamie O'Hara is still a week or so away from fitness following on from a hernia problem, while Karl Henry is still suspended, meaning Frimpong and Edwards will continue in midfield, though Milijas will hope to replace the latter.
  • Stephen Hunt will also be hoping to regain a place in the starting XI after a subdued display from Kightly last time out and the winger may be in need of a rest having missed much of the last two seasons through injury.

Prediction

  • With the arrival of Mark Hughes and plenty of new signings, QPR have seen an upturn in their fortunes. After 3 consecutive losses, they convincingly beat Wigan before throwing away a 2-goal lead at Aston Villa. Bobby Zamora's inclusion could provide an even bigger boost.
  • Wolves are without a win in their last 9 Premier League games, and look out of sorts after plummeting to 19th in the table. Mick McCarthy has been the subject of much flack from fans, but he has been in this position before and his experience could prove invaluable.
  • A Joey Barton inspired QPR walked to a 3-0 win at Molineux back in September, and having just suffered a similar result at home to Liverpool, Wolves will be wary of another heavy defeat. With Karl Henry out, Barton can concentrate on his football and with all the new signings, QPR should be too strong.
  • PREDICTION: QPR win 2-1
