- Bologna are unbeaten since the last match of 2011, and with a tally of 10 points from the last 6 matches they have managed to keep Lecce 4 points adrift despite having two matches in hand. The upcoming fixtures won't be easy, but there will be 4 consecutive home matches from coach Pioli may well aim for 4 points (Fiorentina, Udinese, Novara and Juventus).
- The away side are in the opposite situation, having lost their last match at home, and with 4 of the next 5 fixtures to be played away. As the European spots still seem very far away, the Viola have to just keep their distance from the relegation zone and re-organize their squad for the next season.
