Team News

  • Hernandez is not far from being back available, so finally coach Mutti could have some options for his attack.
  • Ilicic and Zahavi are in contention for the trequartista spot in support of Miccoli and Budan.
  • Munoz will play as right-back, maybe having the opportunity to switch to a three-man defence during the game.
  • As Atalanta didn't play in midweek, German Denis will still have to serve his suspension.
  • Tiribocchi and Gabbiadini could play together, leaving Marilungo out.
  • The Manfredini-Ferri duo in defence has been completely overhauled by Stendardo and Lucchini.

Prediction

  • After two home victories in a row, Palermo picked up a point in an amazing game in Milan against Inter. Mutti has helped his team find their confidence again and can now aim for a four match unbeaten streak.
  • The victory in Cesena gave Atalanta a little relief after a very bad period from the start of 2012. The team is going to miss Denis in this difficult trip, but Colantuono may well consider going to Palermo after a point, knowing that his side have yet to play the postponed home match against Genoa.
  • Palermo have always shown great strength at home, and expect the Rosanero to do so once again. Denis' suspension is going to make Atalanta play a very defensive game, and if Palermo don't lose composure in front of goal and keep scoring through both Budan and Miccoli, there will be no chance for the away side in the end. Watch out for the two strikers given the opportunity to play from kick-off for the visitors: both Tiribocchi and Gabbiadini could use a goal to gain some confidence.
  • PREDICTION: Palermo win 3-1
