- Novara are now in very deep water. They have lost six games in a row, including the Coppa Italia clash against Milan, and relegation is now more than likely. Coach Mondonico has the experience to make his team fight until the end, but the situation is very bad for the club.
- Cagliari played very good football against Roma and once again proved that going to the Sant'Elia isn't easy for any team. The Sardinians are not under pressure to win, but playing a team which is going through a difficult time may be tempting for coach Ballardini.
- Expect Novara to bring aggression to the field, as they are still lacking a proper playing style. Cagliari may suffer playing away from home, but the team have seemed pretty organized in their recent matches (except for the Milan trip) to cope with their opponents' attacks. If they manage to cope with Cossu's absence, then the away side could also try to score early and defend the lead in the second half.
