Team News

  • The points dropped in Rome against Lazio could make Allegri think about fielding his most experienced players to be sure of picking up all 3 here.
  • Seedorf, Ambrosini and Zambrotta could keep El Shaarawy, Emanuelson and Mesbah on the bench.
  • Maxi Lopez may be given a chance as Robinho didn't do well in the last match.
  • Every time Mazzarri has rotated his team he didn't manage to get the intended result. So except for the injured Cannavaro, Napoli will field their typical XI.
  • Lavezzi is therefore expected to play alongside Hamsik, with Pandev on the bench.
  • Britos or Fernandez to replace Napoli's absent captain.

Prediction

  • As Milan dropped a couple of points in Roma, Allegri can't be happy with the performance of his team. They need to pick up points right away in order to make Juventus believe they are still in the run, and with the match moved to the same time as Juventus', the players will definitely not feel the pressure of being more than one point behind at start.
  • Napoli have picked up 6 points in 5 matches since the start of the year, which is in not a good streak for a team in the running for a European Cup spot. Inter and Lazio are flying, and a difficult match in Milan is not going to help Mazzarri.
  • Expect Milan to press from kick off, as Allegri must ask his team to increase the workrate and the quickness of pressing and passing. Napoli may take advantage of that, as Mazzarri's team like to play with a high tempo. Milan will be also one of the few teams not to match Napoli's three-man defence when facing them, so that may be a key element of the match. In the end, Napoli have had a lot trouble when travelling to play Milan, and as this time the Rossoneri have to prove they are still in the running for the title, they may have yet more.
  • PREDICTION: Milan win 1-0.

  • Napoli is vicious in counter attacking but I believe Allegri will make the same mistake he did against Inter. 2-2 from me
