Team News

  • Mario Götze, who is suspended in the Bundesliga, will be back in the starting eleven and probably start on the right wing.
  • On the left wing, Kevin Großkreutz and Ivan Perisic both have chances to start.
  • Top striker Lucas Barrios is still missing due to a muscle injury.
  • After missing the Premier League match against Swansea through suspension, Gervinho, Alexander Song and Carl Jenkinson are now available for selection once again. Both Gervinho and Song are likely to start, with Ramsey ruled out through injury and Arshavin to make way.
  • Vermaelen, Diaby and Wilshere remain unavailable through injury.
  • Andre Santos will push for a starting position, but after a solid performance on Saturday, Kieran Gibbs may well retain the left back spot.

Prediction

  • Both sides faced newly promoted sides this weekend, with contrasting fortunes. Arsenal, after a poor start to the season, will have been buoyed by their 1-0 victory over Swansea at the weekend, whilst Dortmund suffered their second league defeat of the season at home to Bundesliga new boys Hertha Berlin.
  • Both teams like to keep control of the ball and have dominated possession in their matches so far this season. Which team which manages to take control early on may well be key to the outcome of this game.
  • With important players returning for both sides this could be a tight, yet high quality affair, but with not much between the two teams, they may cancel each other out.
  • WHOSCORED.COM Predicts: 1-1

  • not bad result. BVB you will see the real ARSENAL back home

  • Come on Arshavin!

  • Arshavin will contribute defensively IF he is having one of his "good days"... Always a bit of a gamble to be honest. He is fantastic when he puts 110% in!

  • Problem is that Arshavin does not contribute defensively at all. At least Walcott puts some pressure on the defence.

  • Could be a worthwhile alternative

  • I think I would rather see Arshavin in the starting 11 instead of Walcott. Arshavin on the left and Gervinho on the right. Then bring Walcott on for RVP late on in the game so he can use his pace to maximum affect!
