Austria coach Didi Constantini dropped two players currently plying their trade in the German Bundesliga from the squad, with Marko Arnautovic and Andreas Ivanschitz failing to make the grade.
Starting keeper Jurgen Macho is injured, so there should be a debut for Hans-Peter Berger in his place.
The hosts will look to target man Marc Janko as their out ball in what is likely to be a defensive line-up. Austria's star men all play in Germany, so will be familiar with their opponents come Tuesday, with the likes of Alaba, Fuchs and Harnik standing out as the ones to watch.
With Schweinsteiger, Bender and Trasch all withdrawing from the squad through injury, Low's main dilemma will be who to partner with Khedira, with Kroos the obvious candidate ahead of Rolfes.
With Miroslav Klose also sidelined, Mario Gomez will start up front despite not starting for Bayern this season.
Having starred against the Faroe Islands, Ozil will keep his place in behind Gomez, with Muller and Podolski likely to get the nod for the wide attacking midfield spots.
Prediction
With two rivalling football nations and neighbours going head-to-head this week, this match should be an intense affair, with plenty of familiar faces on show for the hosts, many of whom play their football in Germany.
Germany got off to a comfortable, if expected winning start in the group, while for Austria this will be their first game of the campaign and they will hope to begin well.
Despite a number of casualties befalling the German squad their strength in depth is one of the greatest in the world right now and should be enough to see them win, though the home side will put up a real fight.
These are pretty grotesque lineup predictions. Gomez is injured (and not since yesterday ^^), Klose will be upfront. Lahm is now definitely on the right, with Badstuber on the left if Schmelzer can't recover in time. It is very unlikely Götze will be playing in right midfield, rather Reus.
Alaba is also out injured (just like Gomez not since yesterday ^^). Harnik should be upfront, with Arnautovic in right midfield.
And speaking of grotesque: Neither Klose nor Reus are injured, neither Träsch nor Sven Bender are in the squad. The "team news" seem to be from one year ago, Rolfes is not even close to the squad. Very, very strange...

Draw 2-2
Gomez is still injured you whoscored morons! Klose will start, he's fit! stupid website!!!
Muller amazed in his first two games this season.
Who would Reus replace though Dave? He s been a sub most of the time.
Gutted that Reus is injured. Love watching him play and think he's much better than Muller.
