Everton
- Phil Bardsley and Sebastian Larsson should both return to the line-up having missed the weekend's clash through illness, with the former likely to replace the injured John O'Shea at right-back.
- Sessegnon made a goalscoring return from suspension and will keep his place while captain Lee Cattermole could make his comeback from a 4-match ban, though Colback and Vaughan both impressed in his absence.
- The likes of Kyrgiakos and Bridge will continue to deputise at the back with Brown and Richardson sidelined.
- Young midfielders Rodwell and Coleman will struggle to recover from injuries to start on Tuesday night, but could make the bench at The Stadium of Light.
- Steven Pienaar is cup-tied, meaning Royston Drenthe could come in and represent the only change from an impressive 2-0 victory away at Swansea at the weekend.
- Fellaini could, however, return to the starting line-up in place of Neville to partner Darron Gibson, who made his recovery from injury last time out. Neville would hope to revert to right-back in place of Hibbert if that were the case.
Good match! Sunderland - Everton fight 2! :))
