Team News

  • Lorient go into the game with a huge list of long-term injuries.
  • Bruno Ecuele Manga is still out after rupturing knee ligaments against Paris Saint-Germain in the opening game.
  • Mathieu Coutadeur is unavailable for at least the next three months with an ankle injury.
  • Lucas Mareque is set for a long stint on the sidelines due to a knee problem.
  • Benjamin Corgnet is a doubt with a knee complaint, and Alain Traore is out with a hamstring injury.
  • Maxime Barthelme misses out with a similar problem, while Jacques-Alaixys Romao is a fitness doubt.
  • Lille have almost a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of their trip to Brittany.
  • Lucas Digne is still a doubt due to a knee injury, as is Ryan Mendes, who has a hamstring concern.
  • Franck Beria may also miss out through injury.
  • However, manager Rudi Garcia should be able to call on all of his big hitters as his side look to continue their current good run of form.

Prediction

  • Lorient welcome Lille to the Stade du Moustoir hoping to arrest a slide that has seen them drop into the bottom half of the Ligue 1 table.
  • Les Merlus are without a win in seven games, and suffered a humbling defeat at the hands of Bordeaux last weekend, as they were thumped 4-0 in front of a disapproving home crowd.
  • Christian Gourcuff's men have now conceded 25 goals this term - the second highest in the division - and although injuries have not helped their cause, the men from Brittany will need to tighten up at the back if they are to overcome an improving Lille side.
  • Indeed, although they have struggled in the Champions League, Les Dogues have won four of their last five in their domestic league, and now sit just three points shy of leaders Paris Saint-Germain, with their front three of Dimitri Payet, Nolan Roux and Saloman Kalou are beginning to find form.
  • Lorient will be determined not to surrender as meekly as they did against Bordeaux, but Lille side will undoubtedly go in as favourites and should have enough to overcome Gourcuff's patchwork side.
