Team News

  • Frederic Antonetti is set to be without two key players for the visit of Evian.
  • Benoit Costil and Jean Makoun are both suspended after being sent-off in Rennes' dramatic win over PSG, Cheikh N'Diaye will take Costil's place at goalkeeper, while Vincent Pajot is likely to replace Makoun in midfield.
  • Victor Montano is out with a foot problem, and Abdoulaye Sane is expected to be absent with a thigh problem.
  • Evian have a slew of injury concerns going into this weekend's contest.
  • Jonathan Mensah is out due to a thigh injury, while Cedric Mongongu is unavailable due to similar problem.
  • Ali M'Madi, David Jarolim and Saber Khelifa are all still recovering from injuries and manager Pascal Dupraz will be expected to stick with a front three of Youssef Adnane, Kevin Berigaud and Sidney Govou.

Prediction

  • Rennes and Evian meet at the Route de Lorient this weekend after picking up morale-boosting results last time out.
  • Frederic Antonetti's men pulled off one of the biggest surprises in recent history as they overcame big-spending Paris Saint-Germain despite being reduced to nine men. Meanwhile Evain produced a stirring comeback, pulling back a two goal deficit to earn a point against Saint-Etienne.
  • Mohammed Rabiu and Aldo Angoula were both on target in that game, and with Les Roses beginning to score goals from all areas of the field, they will go into a difficult game with renewed confidence.
  • However, it is at the back where the men from Annecy may struggle as they face a Rennes outfit that possesses a superb group of attacking players in Mevlut Erding, Jonathan Pitroipa, Romain Alessandrini and Julien Feret.
  • Expect a free-flowing attacking game that should be dominated by the home side. Les Rouge-et-Noir have won four of their last five and should be able to sweep past Evian and maintain their title challenge.
