Team News

  • Marseille will be without Andre Pierre-Gignac who is yet to recover from a foot injury.
  • Senah Mango is out with an ankle problem, Benoit Cheyrou has a groin injury and defender Rod Fanni is still suspended.
  • Lorient go into the game with a large list of absentees.
  • Arnaud Le Lan has a knee injury and Maxime Baca is out with a thigh strain. Alain Traore is also expected to be absent, as is Yann Jouffre. Ludovic Giuly and Lucas Mareque are both doubts.
  • Bruno Ecuele Manga is still out after rupturing knee ligaments against Paris Saint-Germain in the opening game.
  • Mathieu Coutadeur is unavailable with an ankle problem, while Remi Mulumba misses out due to a similar injury.

  • Marseille entertain Lorient at the Stade Velodrome hoping to keep pace at the top of the Ligue 1 table.
  • Both sides enjoyed positives results last weekend, midfielder Joey Barton inspired Les Phoceeens to a 2-1 win at Brest, while Lorient edged to a slightly fortuitous win over Toulouse.
  • Barton, along with creative midfielder Mathieu Valbuena should be expected to play a big part and in an encounter that Elie Baup's men will be expected to dominate.
  • Lorient have impressed sporadically so far this term, but while Les Merlus made a superb start in the early stages of the campaign, an extensive injury list has begun to take it's toll on Christian Gourcuff's men, and L'OM should be able to win with relative ease in front of their home fans.
