Team News

  • Nice have a clutch of injury worries heading into the game.
  • Stephane Bahoken has a leg injury, while Diacko Fofana and Moussa M'Bow both have knee problems.
  • Cyril Hennion and Jeremy Pied have yet to return to fitness, and Mahmane Traore is away at the African Cup of Nations.
  • Valenciennes have no new concerns, but will be without Gael Danic, who is set for a long spell on the sidelines with a broken leg.
  • Defender Gil and midfielder Remi Gomis are both still out, and they join Pape Abdou Camara, Mody Traore, Dusan Djuric and Kama Massampu in the treatment room.
  • Benjamin Angoua also misses out after being called up to the Ivory Coast squad for the African Cup of Nations.

Prediction

  • Nice will hope to continue their excellent campaign when they take on an equally impressive Valenciennes side at the Stade du Ray.
  • Les Aiglons are in contention for a European place after a superb first half of the season, which has owed much to the form of Argentinian striker Dario Cvitanich.
  • However, the 28-year-old will have his work cut out against a Valenciennes defence that has been the backbone of a side that has stunned many by competing for a place in the top six.
  • The long-term loss of Gael Danic has been a big blow to Daniel Sanchez's side however, and with Nice famously very strong at home, it is difficult to see the visitors taking anything from this encounter.
