Team News

  • Lyon have very few injury concerns heading into the clash with Evian.
  • Steed Malbranque should be fit enough to participate despite picking up an injury. Jimmy Briand is out with a hamstring injury, but Clement Grenier could return to action.
  • Evian are set to be without a number of first team regulars.
  • Brice Dja Djede is out through injury, while Bertrand Laquait, Johann Durand and Aldo Angoula are all suspended.
  • Cedric Mongongu, Jonathan Mensah, Mohammed Rabiu, Djakaridja Kone and Saber Khlifa are all on African Cup of Nations duty and will be absent for the foreseeable future.

Prediction

  • Lyon will look to cement their place at the top of Ligue 1 against struggling Evian at the Stade de Gerland.
  • Les Gones moved to the summit of the division with a 2-1 win over Troyes, with Maxime Gonalons and Samuel Umtiti both netting in a tight contest. Evian continued their slide however as they fell to a 2-0 home defeat to Brest.
  • Sidney Govou is likely to make an appearance against his former club for Les Roses, and he will hope to provide some creativity for a side that has been inconsistent in front of goal this term.
  • Still Pascal Dupraz's men will go into the game as underdogs, and anything other than a comfortable win for the hosts will be a huge surprise.
