Team News
Aston Villa
WBA
- Marc Albrighton made his return to action from a broken metatarsal as a sub in the cup but with the game against City going to extra-time he may have had more playing time than Lambert would have liked, so is likely to be rested.
- Impressive performances from the likes of Joe Bennett and Fabian Delph could earn the duo starts. Though the former is a doubt after limping off against City, the latter should take the place of the injured Stephen Ireland.
- Gabby Agbonlahor scored twice in midweek, and for the first time since January, so could start on the wing on the opposite flank to Charles N'Zogbia, who also netted at The Etihad.
- Peter Odemwingie remains suspended after being sent off at Fulham so will miss the derby at Villa, while West Brom will be hoping a knock picked up by James Morrison won't keep the Scot out of action.
- Jerome Thomas remains sidelined, though Steven Reid could be back in contention following a spell out of the side with a hamstring injury.
- Romelu Lukaku should keep his place as the lone striker, though if Morrison isn't passed fit he could be partnered by Shane Long after combining with the Irishman to score the winner against Reading.
- Liam Ridgewell picked up a knock against Liverpool in midweek and is a doubt to face his former club so Clarke will hope that new signing Goran Popov can recover from a groin injury in time
