- Glen Johnson missed the Merseyside derby last weekend due to a muscle spasm and remains a doubt. Enrique took his place but made an error leading to Everton's equaliser and Rodgers will be hoping the England international can feature.
- Jose Reina is almost certain to return to the line-up after a mistake from Brad Jones let The Toffees back into the game last week, with the Australian having been preferred to the out of form Spaniard.
- Shelvey will hope to start ahead of Suso or Sahin, who were both withdrawn at half time at Goodison Park.
- Alan Pardew has rated Demba Ba as having a 50-50 chance of featuring at Anfield after picking up a shin injury last time out. If he does recover quickly Pardew will be keen to use him with Cisse out of form despite a fortunate season opener against West Brom.
- Cheik Tiote is still suspended, so Perch should keep his place in midfield with the likes of Vuckic, Taylor and Gosling all absent.
- The performances of Mike Williamson continue to keep Steven Taylor on the sidelines, and other than the decisions to be made up front the team should remain unchanged.
Orgasmic goal by Luis Suarez. Winger's movement was terrible for both, despite Ben Arfa. Allen had 99 touches, Cabaye 40; Pretty much sums up the game.
