Artur Boruc could return between the posts after he missed the loss at West Brom as there is an ongoing investigation into him having thrown a water bottle into the crowd in a match a couple of weeks ago.
Otherwise, Nigel Adkins could stick with the same XI that played at the Hawthorns.
Jack Cork is lacking match fitness but could well be available, while Frazer Richardson remains out.
Chico is likely to return at the heart of the Swansea defence after missing the draw with Chelsea through injury.
Otherwise, Michael Laudrup will stick with the same team that played in that game.
Gerhard Tremmel will continue between the posts with Michel Vorm still out.
Prediction
Things are starting to get desperate for Southampton. They have gained just 4 points from their opening 10 matches, breaking records in the process by becoming the first team to be behind in at some point in each of their first 10 Premier League matches.
Swansea are starting to settle into their place in the middle of the table nicely, and picked up a well-earned point against Chelsea last time out, having been unlucky to fail to do the same at Manchester City the week previous. They play attack-minded football and will certainly find the net against a leaky Southampton side.
Southampton have no choice but to go all out for the win here, and given their results this season, that points to there being plenty of goals in this game. They do not struggle in front of goal but also cannot stop other teams from scoring. A win cannot come soon enough, but Swansea are a good side and Southampton might just be made to keep waiting.
