Team News

  • Itay Shechter was given the nod ahead of Danny Graham up front last weekend and could keep his place following the win over Newcastle.
  • Chico missed the game due to a leg injury but should be back in contention on Sunday and could replace Garry Monk.
  • Elsewhere the only possible change could come on the wing, with Routledge and Dyer both vying for a start.
  • With no fresh injury concerns Liverpool may well field the same side that won convincingly against Wigan last weekend.
  • However, Jordan Henderson replaced Suso in the first half of the 3-0 win and will hope to keep his place, with Steven Gerrard moving into a more advanced role.
  • A knock to Andre Wisdom in in the first half against Young Boys could mean that the youngster is a doubt, with Jose Enrique potentially having to revert to full-back.
  • If Wisdom isn't able to recover in time Joe Cole will hope that a bright display in the Europa League could earn him a rare chance in the league, though Jonjo Shelvey will also hope for a start.

Prediction

  • Swansea will hope to pile the pressure on former manager Brendan Rodgers by repeating what the new Liverpool boss managed last season with a 1-0 home win.
  • The Welsh outfit also have reason to be confident having beaten the Reds already this season with a 3-1 victory in the Capital One Cup, and Liverpool have only won once on the road in the league this season.
  • Rodgers' side have, however, only lost once away from home and will hope to continue converting their chances, particularly given the improvement in Luis Suarez's finishing of late.
