  • Newcastle go into this game looking to avoid losing at St James' Park for the third consecutive time; something they have avoided since April 2009. They have, however, not lost in the Premier League in 7 home games against Wigan, winning 4 and drawing three.
  • Wigan will therefore be thought of as unlikely to win here, but they pulled off a wholly unexpected victory at Tottenham not so long ago and with Newcastle's injury problems they could well spring a surprise.
