  • After resting the vast majority of his first team for the trip to Olympiakos in midweek, Arsene Wenger will have a few fit and refreshed players available.
  • Wingers Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski were both left at home in the week with injuries and have not recovered sufficiently to play here.
  • It will be interesting to see if Wenger reverts to playing Aaron Ramsey out wide after the loss against Swansea last week where Walcott and Podolski were on the wings.
West Bromwich Albion
  • Ben Foster has undergone successful surgery on a groin injury, and while he remains absent here, he is well on his way to recovery.
  • Steve Clarke made wholesale changes for the game against Stoke last week, and we will probably see the return of the likes of James Morrison and Shane Long here.
  • Craig Dawson is West Brom's only other absentee.

Prediction

  • Arsenal are in dire need of a victory, and after a dour performance - that probably came as a result of underestimating Swansea - last week, they will need to improve here. With the midfield trio of Wilshere, Arteta and Cazorla all rested in midweek, we should expect a strong performance from the home team.
  • West Brom will be hoping to bounce back from successive defeats against Swansea and Stoke, and will be buoyed by the fact that Arsenal lost here last week. Steve Clarke has told his players to take inspiration from the win the Baggies picked up at the Emirates 2 seasons ago (a 3-2 win, then under Roberto Di Matteo).
  • However, Arsenal had a weakened side that day, and that was the only game in their last 5 visits to the Emirates than West Brom managed to avoid defeat. With Arsenal fired up and needing to get their season back on track, they should obtain the necessary victory.
