Team News
Man Utd
Sunderland
- Nemanja Vidic could well play a part after Sir Alex Ferguson stated that the City game had come too soon for him but this match might be a good time for him to make his long-awaited return.
- Wayne Rooney has had a virus this week but is hopeful of being fit for the game.
- Jonny Evans is a minor doubt after being forced off against City with a hamstring injury not long into the 2nd half last time out. Chris Smalling will be on standby to replace him.
- Paul Scholes could return in central midfield, while it might be too much to ask Antonio Valencia to play two games in a week after only recently returning from injury, so we could see Ferguson revert to the narrow midfield diamond he has utilised on a few occasions this season.
- After a resounding 3-0 win over Reading in midweek, Martin O'Neill's side will have a renewed confidence and he may opt for the same XI at Old Trafford.
- Former Utd trainee Phil Bardsley was withdrawn only half an hour after coming on in the Reading game with a knee injury and is a severe doubt for this game.
- Adam Johnson and Danny Rose were also taken off with knocks in midweek and could miss out here, with O'Shea able to switch to left-back if necessary and Larsson a potential replacement on the right, with Bramble and Vaughan coming in centrally.
REVENGE S'land fans you are not welcome anymore at Old Trafford ,it's going to be a nightmare for you and you know why!!! ;) We are Man Utd ,we do what we want!!!
Definitely revenge.
Jonny Evans won't play.Sir Alex confirmed it.Probably Vidic will replace him!
Sunderland fans sarcastically cheered wildly last season after news that Aguero had scored the winning goal at QPR and snatched the title from us.
Another great performance from De Gea!!! :)
