  • After resting a number of first teamers in the FA Cup, Harry Redknapp's side suffered a humiliating defeat that was masked slightly by two late goals having gone 4-0 down to MK Dons.
  • This is set to be Ryan Nelsen's last game for the club before he leaves to take charge of MLS outfit Toronto FC, with Redknapp keen to bring in reinforcements to cover for the loss of arguably their best defender this season.
  • Loic Remy, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Junior Hoilett should all be fit enough to feature against City, with Bobby Zamora also back fit.
Manchester City
  • Roberto Mancini has something of a defensive crisis on his hands with Joleon Lescott potentially the only fit centre-back available after Kompany limped off in the first half against Stoke.
  • With Nastasic a major doubt and Kolo Toure on international duty, Mancini must decide whether to opt for a back three with Clichy and Zabaleta either side of Lescott or to drop Javi Garcia back into the defence.

Prediction

  • After bridging the gap at the top by two points last weekend City won't want to let United pull further away again, so defensive problems have come at the wrong time for the visitors and the right time if you're a QPR fan.
  • The hosts, however, were battered by lower-league opposition this weekend so confidence may be a little low and Redknapp is likely to play a defensive style, with Taarabt and Remy set to be given the only attacking roles.

    WS seems modest regarding Man City predictions. A loss against United, draw against decent teams at home, and conceding goals (or even an upset) against weaker teams.
