  • Rayo's great run came to an end last weekend as they were beaten 2-0 at Granada.
  • Paco Jemez will, however, be able to recall two of the list of players who missed the trip to Nuevo Los Carmenes as Alejandro Dominguez and Alejandro Galvez return from suspension.
  • Leo Baptistao remains out though with a thigh injury so Dominguez may have to lead the line himself or Jose Carlos could be dropped to accommodate the Argentine in his favoured role with Andrija Delibasic continuing up front.

  • Betis however have even greater injury concerns with up to seven first-team players missing from Pepe Mel's squad.
  • Damien Perquis is expected to come in for the injured Paulao and Mario alongside Antonio Amaya in central defence, but Nacho returns from suspension so Javi Chica will be able to move back across to his favoured side at right-back.

Prediction

  • Both sides like to play open and attractive football so this should be a good one to watch for the neutral with plenty of goalmouth action.
  • In particular Betis' counter-attacking style that has served them so well on the road this season, with six wins from nine games, should come into play as Rayo press high and look to impose themselves. However Los Verdiblancos looked very vulnerable themselves in the second-half of their game against Athletic on Monday and the extra toll of playing twice in three days, as they also took on Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, ought to benefit Rayo.
