- Two late goals pushed Osasuna up to 14th in the table at Levante last time out, with Jose Luis Mendilibar saying, "I do not think we have added anything more than three points - whilst they are very important, we are now looking to the next game."
- That game is of course against Athletic on Saturday, and after Kike Sola scored his 3rd goal in four appearances from the bench, the striker should return to the first eleven with Miguel De las Cuevas making way.
- Miguel Flaño and Lolo return from suspension, though neither are guaranteed a starting berth after consecutive clean sheets.
- Defeat in the last ever Basque derby at San Mamés was a bitter blow for Marcelo Bielsa, though he isn't concerned: "I have been in this job for 30 years, so nothing here is new."
- Despite their problems Athletic are unlikely to change much due to contract negotiations and internal disagreements with the key players that could help turn this turmoil around.
- Iker Muniain collected his fifth booking of the season, and while it hasn't been the greatest year for the young playmaker, given the circumstances they will still definitely miss him.
