Espanyol
- Valencia's Jekyll and Hyde form at home and on the road continued last weekend as their winless streak away from home in the league extended to six with a 1-1draw at Valladolid.
- Aly Cissokho was the hero turned villain for Los Che as he scored the opener before being sent-off in conceding the penalty that led to Valladolid's equaliser and his absence through suspension will be a problem for Mauricio Pellegrino as Jeremy Mathieu also remains out injured.
- In their absence Victor Ruiz could fill in at left-back with Ricardo Costa returning in the centre of defence.
- Robero Soldado and Jonas are also expected to return to the starting line-up in attack, whilst Tino Costa should replace Fernando Gago who is doubtful with an ankle injury.
- Espanyol's crisis on and off the field nearly forced manager Mauricio Pochettino into resigning this week and the Argentine remains on the brink should Los Pericos suffer another defeat at the Mestalla.
- Samuelle Longo will return to the starting line-up after being benched for the 3-0 home defeat to Osasuna last weekend as Christian Stuani is suspended, whilst Mubarak Wakaso will also come back in after completing his one-game ban.
- In midfield Raul Baena, Christian Gomez and Juan Forlin are all battling for the one place alongside Victor Sanchez and Raul Rodriguez will continue to deputise for the injured Javi Lopez at right-back.
