Levante
Athletic Club
- Levante put in an uncharacteristically ragged performance to lose 3-0 to Rayo Vallecano last time out and their chances of getting back on track this weekend will be hampered by the absence of Obafemi Martins through suspension.
- Ángel is therefore likely to be handed a rare start up front and there could be even more problems for Juan Ignacio Martinez should Jose Barkero fail to shake off an ankle injury.
- Pedro Rios is the most likely candidate to replace the veteran midfielder should he not be fit, but Christian Lell returns from suspension and is expected to start at right-back.
- Athletic's positive momentum after two consecutive victories was stopped in its tracks by another disappointing home defeat to Real Zaragoza just before the winter break, but Marcelo Bielsa does have a number of key players back for the trip to Valencia.
- Fernando Amorebieta and Carlos Gurpegi are fit again, whilst Markel Susaeta will return after being suspended last time out.
- Jon Aurtenetxe is a major doubt so Oscar de Marcos is expected to deputise at left-back.
