Team News

  • Valencia moved to within four points of the Champions League places with their third win in four league games away at Granada last weekend.
  • And with Malaga hosting Barcelona and Betis and Levante facing off this weekend, they have the perfect opportunity for to move even closer to the top four.
  • Valverde is expected to stick largely with the side that started in Granada, although Tino Costa may replace David Albelda as the 35-year-old has already played twice this week, whilst Dani Parejo will continue to deputise for the absent Sofiane Feghouli.
  • Sevilla got a much needed win themselves last Saturday as Emir Spahic's late goal secured all three points against Osasuna.
  • Los Nervionenses are still rooted in the bottom half of the table, but their lengthy injury list of a few weeks ago has almost completely cleared up and Coke also returns from suspension for the trip to the Mestalla.

Prediction

  • This is most certainly La Liga's battle of the underachievers so far this season, but Valencia appear to be the ones headed in the right direction and will still fancy themselves as favourites to secure the fourth Champions League spot.
  • Until Spahic's late intervention last weekend, Sevilla had taken just one point from the previous 15 available and their away form is even worse, with a draw and five defeats from their last six road trips in the league.
