Osasuna
Real Madrid
- Osasuna remain rooted to the foot of the table as they lost out to a late Emir Spahic goal at Sevilla last weekend, condemning Los Rojillos to their 10th defeat in 18 games so far this season.
- And things aren't getting any easier for Jose Luis Mendilibar on the injury front with Roberto Torres and Raoul Loe being added to their already extensive list of absentees.
- Alejandro Arribas returns from suspension for the visit of the champions with Ruben Gonzalez expected to drop out for the ex-Rayo Vallecano defender.
- Real Madrid showed their battling qualities despite being almost certainly out of the title race as they overcame the sixth minute sending-off of goalkeeper Antonio Adan to beat Real Socedad 4-3 last weekend.
- However, Jose Mourinho's men will be without their talisman and once again newly crowned second best player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo as he picked up his fifth booking in five games against the Basques and is suspended.
- Pepe and Fabio Coentrao are also stilll absent through injury, whilst Sergio Ramos has been banned for five matches for insulting the referee after he was sent-off in the Copa del Rey game against Celta Vigo on Wednesday.
- The choice between Iker Casillas and Adan is also redundant for at least one weekend as the latter is also suspended, but Gonzalo Higuain could be set for his first start since early November.

@Rafael95 So Real shouldn't get red cards because they are Real Madrid? Don't play dirty tackles all game and Real would get less red cards.
Yes it was rainy. Real really struggled on this one without Ronaldo. And what the hell? it's like the third game in a row where a Real player gets a red card
Varane is "Man of the Match" - that says much about the game..
@berhin It was rainy and both teams played their defenses high up, so the area the ball was traversing was very compact. Adding to this the high amounts of pressing and you have low passing accuracy. @Rafael95 Real is probably the number one contender for the spot of "team that gets less cards than they deserve".
@kreizi Nostradamus
Rainy/snowy/icy day? Nothing else can explain both teams' 55-60% passing accuracy.
