Team News

  • As usual, Maran will not change a lot from his usual lineup, sticking to 4-3-3.
  • Alvarez will be absent, though, and Bellusci is likely to take his place.
  • Should somebody in the startng XI need some rest, Capuano, Izco and Morimoto are ready to step in.
  • Coach Colantuono still have a lot of absentees, but his reserves proved to be reliable against Palermo.
  • Raimondi, who is playing out of position to replace Schelotto, was the match-winner and will get another start on the right wing.
  • Bonaventura and Maxi Moralez may swap roles at some point during the game.

Prediction

  • Catania have done pretty well so far, particularly because the managerial change hasn't brought about any substantial changes to the playing style of the team. Maran has to work on his team adopting his own style of play though, as the team still looks like Montella's one.
  • Atalanta cancelled out a poor start to the season with two victories in a row despite difficulties with injuries. Confidence should be high again, but the Massimino is an extremely tough place to go.
  • The hosts are expected to retain the ball while Atalanta should sit back and bide their time. Colantuono may be happy with one point, while no wins from two consecutive home matches would not be good for Catania. So when the home side push for a winner, the Bergamasca could find a way to strike back.
