Team News

  • Bergodi is likely to stick with the same XI that lost to Milan in San Siro last week.
  • The only change could see two players in behind Abbruscato, with Quintero coming in for Vukusic.
  • The club have already made their first move in the transfer market: Nicolas Bianchi Arce is ready to join the squad in the coming days, but will only be available for the first match of 2013.
  • Both Biagianti and Salifu are not available, but since Almiron is back after suspension, the midfield trio with Lodi and Izco is completed.
  • Bergessio and Gomez will be key absentees up front, where Doukara and Castro will take their places.
  • Maran should stick with the same defence that played against Sampdoria.

Prediction

  • Pescara played against Milan, Napoli and Roma in the last four rounds and therefore dropped points, which has meant they have fallen to the 18th in the table. Here is a good chance to reverse the trend against opponents that usually struggle away from home.
  • Catania achieved their first away victory of the season in Siena just two games ago, and since their position in the table is pretty comfortable, they may look for just one point here in Pescara.
  • The hosts are hungry for points and may even start more attacking than the lineup suggests, but Catania should manage to control the game by retaining possession. Pescara will hope to avoid conceding an early goal and then slowly attack more and more. A pressing game with a focus on Lodi and Almiron may make the difference in this match.

  • there will be a gol due to a set piece situation. pescara are very poor on defending and catania create lots of scoring chanses with legrottaglie. lodi and marchese probably will pick up some assist for sure
