Borussia M.Gladbach
- Andre Dias is suspended for this game having been sent off in the reverse fixture last week, while Gonzalez is, along with Cavanda and Mauri, one booking away from a suspension.
- The latter, however, will miss this game anyway through injury, along with star striker Miroslav Klose, though Ledesma will return to the side having missed Serie A action on Monday night through suspension.
- Libor Kozak will hope to start in a 4-4-2 formation having netted twice from the bench in last week's 3-3 draw, though the partnership with Floccari didn't work in a shock 3-0 defeat at Siena at the weekend.
- Lucien Favre has very few injury concerns to worry about, with only fringe players Mlapa and Hrgota out injured and no players suspended or in danger of a ban for that matter.
- Although Gladbach have a Borussenderby with Dortmund to contend with on Sunday, with this game in the balance they are likely to recall the likes of Nordveit and de Jong who were rested at the weekend.
- The latter should start alongside Patrick Herrmann having experimented with a 4-2-3-1 formation in the first leg.
