Ajax
PEC Zwolle
- Joël Veltman, Daley Blind and Siem de Jong all returned to group training this week but it is expected that all three will not feature against PEC Zwolle.
- Blind has the strongest chance to make the matchday squad but Nicolai Boilesen should continue at left-back.
- Stefano Denswil is expected to continue in central defence alongside Niklas Moisander.
- Thulani Serero, who sat out of international duty with complaints of a groin injury, is medically cleared. If he doesn't make the starting line-up – he could possibly be saved for the upcoming game against Barcelona – then Lerin Duarte, who joined from Heracles on deadline day, will make his debut.
- PEC Zwolle will be without Youness Mokhtar who left for FC Twente, while first choice goalkeeper Diederik Boer is out injured. Furdjel Narsingh and Ronnie Reniers are also sidelined.
- Jesper Drost, who has quietly impressed this season in midfield, is also ruled out of the trip to Amsterdam with a groin injury.
