Team News

  • Eden Hazard is still a doubt and will not be risked with the games against Atletico Madrid and Liverpool in mind.
  • Chelsea were unimpressive against 10-man Swansea last time out so may make some changes, but Demba Ba, who scored the match winner, may well keep his place up front.
  • Ashley Cole will need to play in Madrid due to Ivanovic's ban so he could feature in order to get some game time ahead of Tuesday's match.
  • Jozy Altidore is fully fit once again but will remain on the bench after Connor Wickham's brace at the Etihad Stadium.
  • Phil Bardsley is still suspended so Vergini should keep his place in the side at right-back.
  • Elsewhere there could be one change after Emanuele Giaccherini had an impact from the bench last time out so he could replace compatriot Fabio Borini.

Prediction

  • A 2-2 draw away to Manchester City would be a spectacular result in any other circumstances but given that they surrendered an unlikely lead in the dying minutes Sunderland may well be feeling deflated.
  • The reality now is that they need to pick up points against either Chelsea or United away from home in order to beat the drop, while the Blues now have the title within their grasp following the Black Cats' favour on Wednesday.
  • Expect plenty of passion from the visitors but Mourinho won't let his side take any games for granted and knowing that 4 wins will secure the title is incentive enough to ensure they don't slip up before the crucial match against Liverpool.

  • MOTD pundits are bias snobbish undercover scums..They only favour known famous names and moan their loss ignoring the reason responsible for loss

  • Manonne has been the best keeper in the EPL this season IMO. He gets NOWHERE NEAR enough credit from pundits etc. I watched MOTD and they didn't say one good thing about him. Pathetic.

  • sure mate, keep telling yourself that

  • Hazard not here thats why we lost

  • Willian 5 tackles and 9(nine) key passes! Never seen more key passes by one player in a match. 5 is rare.

  • Wooooooooooooooooooo YES GET IN! I LOVE YOU SUNDERLAND!!! YNWA

  • I hope you guys stay in the prem

  • 31 SHOTS........31 AND YOU CAN HARDLY SCORE A GOAL FROM OPEN PLAY!

  • we are forever in debt to the black cats, how can we ever repay you?

  • No Cats' fans here? Ha'way the lads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @excalibur Liverpool didn't get 4 penalties at Old Trafford, you're talking nonsense.

  • thank u Borini...

  • Chelsea play awful football. Slow and boring. No football philosophy whatsoever. And I don't know what Willian did in this game for him to get a 9.1 rating. Laughable.

  • SO HAPPY

  • lol @spursman

  • Nice one FA. Congrats for giving Liverpool the title. It was obvious that something strange was going on after watching a ref give not 1, not 2, but 4 f****** penalties at Old Trafford to Liverpool. Rigged BS

  • William MotM

  • CHELSEA 1-2 SUNDERLAND and Willian with a 9.0 WTF

  • Thank you Sunderland! Liverpool fans rejoice....

  • Its so sad to see a ref decide the fate of a championship. Not a single call in favor for chelsea but a fake penalty for sunderland. Congrats FA!

  • GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL SUNDERLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND NOW give a 10 give a 10 give a 10 for the Overrated

  • Come on Give Willian a 10 jajajajjajajja OVERRATED shame shame shame

  • If I was Mourinho I would consider putting Lampard as a striker. His attacking positioning and finishing are great.

  • Wow, Chelsea really sucks big time. Every time I watch them they have no idea what to do with the ball and torture themselves against any team. They really don't deserve to win the title. Heck even Arsenal plays better.

  • Willian ¿8.2? Oh come on OVERRATED OVERRATED 1-1 against Sunderland at home and Willian 8.2 jajjaajjajaj

  • Sunder Land will win off a fluke goal kids

  • what happened to cech??

  • Mannone having a great game. Chelsea's back-line looked a bit shaky at times. Let's see if they can improve their finishing in the second half.

  • Liverpool98, we can hope

  • Chelsea will still win
