Team News

  • Everton have along injury list as they seek to cling onto their faint hopes of a top-4 finish.
  • Leighton Baines picked up a knee problem at Southampton but should be able to start this game.
  • Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin could return, with Stones and Alcaraz ready to start if they don't make it.
  • Gareth Barry is ineligible to face his parent club.
  • David Silva and Jesus Navas are expected to miss out but may well be risked if they have any chance of making it.
  • Gael Clichy could start at left-back once again.
  • Nastasic continues to miss out.

Prediction

  • Everton have a slim chance of usurping Arsenal in fourth place but it is out of their hands and they need a win here to stand any chance.
  • Up against a Manchester City side who will win the title with 3 wins between now and the end of the season, Everton will be up against it.
  • City have only won once in the Premier League at Goodison Park, but there has never been this much pressure on them to win there as there is now. Everton's chance of fourth are all-but over, and there is also the added incentive to lose in that if they take points off City they will hand the title to their rivals Liverpool.

  • Why didn't Everton try to cross the ball more? They have such a great crosser Baines and Lukaku who can head it into the net. Instead they passed the ball around doing nothing most of the time.

  • I'm no joe hart fanboy, but how does Tim Howard and joe hart have the same rating? I thought, considering the saves hart made.

  • Jagielka clearly wanted to concede the 3rd goal..

  • @Authentic The entire defense looked like they wanted to lose, none of them were trying at all, they were walking about all game, passing it around the back in injury time, disgusting from Everton

  • @Miike @Miike They were trying to stretch Man City out to create space for an attack. It is too bad most fans think like you do. Martinez is one of the best coaches in football. ManU should of hired him, and I hope Everton fans get spoiled and run him out.

  • @Bo55 Which goal?

  • @Ivannnnn 3rd

  • What where the fans singing in melody of the Steven Gerrard song?

  • @Ivannnnn Steve Gerrard Gerard, he slipped from 40 yards, he gave the ball to Demba Ba, Steve Gerrard Gerard...

  • @Overmars Lol, thanks.

  • what quality time wasting!

  • Wow, I'm so disappointed. Everton clearly were not trying to win the game, yet they still managed to outplay City for most of the game. The last few minutes Everton were just playing it around the back making no attempt to get forward and all game their defense were diabolical. The way we have thrown away this title has been absolutely ridiculous, Parking the bus is shaping football completely these days

  • @Miike Did you watch the match? Because on the basis of this comment I'm assuming you didn't.

  • @bcal Yes, I did, which bit are you referring to? It sounds to me as if you didn't watch the match

  • Everton didn't even pump it long at the end. They were passing it about the defence..

  • Pellegrini the new bus driver

  • and they never going to play in the champions league.neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr loosers

  • everton does not want liverpool to win the league

  • wake up...They don't want Liverpool to win the league title...That's why the defending is such bad...

  • @puyol21 such bad? what are you? Doge?

  • Lee Probert is the shittest cunt alive. He has injured his shoulder

  • LUKAKU! It's not over yet, Everton have definitely been the best team too, come on Everton please get another

  • Kompany an OVER RATED NOOB playing Lukaku onside and then crying about it.

  • Ross Barkley has been quality to be fair

  • @Authentic i will take barkley instead of wilshere

  • Everton's defense has been quality all season, but today when it really matters, I have never seen worse defending, I have no idea what this line-up is about either, Clearly don't want to win

  • @Miike Or, perhaps, hear me out here - City are a quality side. Quit assuming everything is going against you, of course Everton wanted to bloody win.

  • @bcal Lmfao, have you watched the game? They've been walking around all game, never putting any effort In, and the 3rd goal was some of the worst defending I've seen all season

  • Hahahaha I love how Dzeko haters are down-voting me. EAT IT LOSERS! Edin DzekoOoOooOO ooOoOoO Edin DzekoOoOooooOOOooOoOoo!

  • @zuzu Glup si ko kurac.

  • @zuzu Serbs are gypsies?

  • Everton are not giving 100% effort through their side. They are a disgrace and should get docked points. This is from a neutral.

  • @Authentic The attacking players are working hard, the defense clearly are not trying their best, they are walking and at best jogging around when City are attacking, That third goal could have been stopped by a League 1 defense

  • Can somebody fill me In, I didn't see the goal. I've heard people saying that Everton should have had a penalty, then City scored straight after, I saw the goal but not the build up, what happened?

  • Steven Gerrard bottled it for Liverpool :)

  • @Godfather_I Without him we'd be miles behind City anyway, Gerrard is a major reason for our title challenge, nobody will blame him

  • Aguero ffs, why didn't you get injured BEFORE you scored

  • Everton Players want this more than their fans do

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • Microcosm of Aguero's season. Flashes of brilliance, and then an injury.

  • @Skrong It's a shame really, (For everybody except Liverpool fans) If City had Aguero all season they'd be running away with the league. I wish he went off before he scored though

  • Agüero !!!

  • GET IN THERE!!!!!!!! COME ON CITY!

  • @Skrong :'(

  • Pellegrini is such a loser...

  • @MauMorro Nah dawg, you're the loser hating on someone via Internet. Pellegrini is above you in every step of the way. Deal with it.

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • Everton have been Man city's Bogey side for Years but I do not think they are as defensively resolute under Martinez. Will be an interesting game, City win or draw.

  • This week, ALL of Liverpool says: Go Everton!

  • 2-1 Everton.....YNWA!!!! o_O.... not a pool fan, but always wanted to say this...lol... anyways, Liverpool are the neutral's champions this year

  • The only chance to liverpool..

  • PLEASE EVERTON!!! do a favour for your mates across the park, your our only hope. I beg of you
