Team News
Galatasaray
Real Madrid
- Selcuk Inan picked up an injury on international duty and was not risked on Friday but his importance to the side means that he should start on Tuesday.
- Galatasaray are likely to line-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation meaning last season's top scorer Burak Yilmaz, who almost left the club in the summer, may sit on the bench with Drogba favoured.
- There could be a chance that new signing Bruma, the Portuguese teenager signed from Sporting, could be in line for his first start for the club out wide. Wesley Sneijder, meanwhile, was rested in the league to be fully fit to face his former club.
- Real Madrid continue to have a number of defensive issues with Varane having missed out thus far through injury while full-backs Marcelo, Coentrao and Arbeloa were also sidelined at the weekend.
- Carvajal and Nacho may have to continue to deputise, while Sami Khedira may come in for Asier Illarramendi to partner Modric, with Alonso out with a broken foot.
- Question marks remain over the fitness of Gareth Bale, who scored on his debut but was rushed into action somewhat and may not be fit enough to start twice in quick succession.
- Elsewhere Ancelotti has stated that Casillas will return in goal for the Champions League having been dropped in La Liga.
the better team lost with 5 goals difference :D LoL
Terim beforw game 'have no doubts we will beat Real Madrid or any team at home' I wonder where this overconfident egoistic prat is hiding his face now , old proven applies if permitted 'Dont count your chickens before they are hatched' goodni8 Amigos!
Galatasaray got RAPED!!! Agree that they are a really dirty team. Felt sorry for that stupid manager called Terim!
Zizou + Carlo is so far indomitable if some defensive issues are rectified , annihilating gala completing in their home which is considered one of the toughest terrain in world football..amenity this madrid side has shown instigated by immaculate attacking football has produced soul calming vibes... A proud madridista Hala Madrid
Ronaldo is a monster! True showing from Real. Poor Gala, they didn't play as bad as 6-1 would imply.
Many of you didn't understand that in La Liga games Ancelotti combined various squads and tactical approaches and one against Bilbao worked perfect. It was easy to predict that similar tactic will be used today. Game against Villareal wasn't relevant: he used Illara and Bale in unusual 4-3-3 formation and so on... I predicted 2 goals for Real, and it was indeed enough because after second goal Galatasaray simply capitulated...
What a team! They've completely destroyed Gala, who by no means played badly - save for their impotence in attack. It'll be very interesting to see how this group plays out, since Juve are about to play it 1-1 at Copenhagen. RM will be deadly. If they weren't among the favorites before this, they will be now. Gala's goal comes about 60 minutes too late.
Hell?! Thats a heaven for real madrid..all cocky gala fans can take a chill pill now... Well done Real , great character shown under pressure cracking them open in 2nd half.. Bring it on Juve... Hala Madrid
Lopez is indeed amazing!
Diego Lopez is pure class, surely deserves his spot over Casillas.
Galatasaray have certainly suffered from not being able to convert their chances into goals. That's the downside when one plays attacking football against a great attack-minded team such as Real Madrid - the opponent, whilst apparently not in the driving seat, will strike back rather ruthlessly. Yet when it comes to the feel of the game, the goal aside, they've been tactically very successful against RM. As to how much RM allow Galatasaray to have the ball is another question altogether. Well, we'll see whether they'll be able to do something with the great momentum they've had in the second half.
You guys making fun of a legend
Gala wasnt unlucky , Iker & Lopez kept them at bay with some amazing saves ,quite evenly balanced with madrid lacking execution in final third... Isco is proving why he is arguably best young talent in the world.. Melancholous feeling persists due to Iker's situation ,hope he comes back stronger..GWS
Gala unlucky to be behind... But I have no pity for them as they are famous for being a dirty club. Terim seems like he has some mental issues. My Turkish friends say the only reason for their success now, is the strong government backing they have received with their new stadium and the 'match-fixing' allegations on Fenerbahca and Besiktas which there is still no strong evidence for.
I really feel for Casillas - it was supposed to be his night, and then... So far Galatasaray have been very strong, and Real have had serious difficulties in getting their game going.
Both teams to score, over 2.5 goals.
Seing how Madrid played over the weekend, it would be better to go with a more familiar line-up... Benzema is a great player but all strikers go through downtime, which is still being carried from the international break with France, he usually pulls through in CL. Winning is crucial, CR7 needs to find the goal a couple times... Bale should come on in the 2nd half and try better crosses than last weekend. Chemistry takes time, what better way to do so on the road. 2-1 Madrid in a win. Galatasaray will score first. 3-1 if Morata scores late in the game!
2-2 SCORE CORECT
2-2
Madrid's defense looked solid against Granada and Bilbao when they played 4-2-3-1. The problem was with Ancelotti's 4-3-3 against Betis and Villareal (with Khedira in first, and Illarra in second game as only holding midfielders), and Ancelotti is definately not going to gamble again with that formation today. However, Nacho and Carvajal are weak in defensive duties, and the former one will not be involved too much offensively. I would say 2-1 or 2-0 for Real.
draw
This Madrid defense is weak, they should concede, but they create a lot every match, so they should score...+ the turkish people boost Galatasaray game a lot...so i think a tie...2-2 perhaps.
2-0 to galatasaray !!!!!
This fixture will test team's efficacy to an extent.. Nacho is playing fine as lb shuffling him for bale will be hystercal given that villareal he struggled to track back , also slander he would face from media defiling his offensive mindset.. Imo bench benz ,play ronaldo as in-out ST , Bale on left wing , di maria on right with Isco commanding the attacking triad..modric & illara(both dlp + dm ) anchoring the mid ,take one off post-HT if we get a lead for sami to add more steel..only thing to worry about is pepe's intermittent brainfart( pardon for being harsh) but with Iker commanding the defense i'm optimistic...lets checkmate terim for his overconfidence....hala madrid !
@crossfox: And assuming that Ronaldo will play on the left, how is it that di Maria and Bale will share the right wing? Personally I wouldn't have bought Bale and stick with my magnificent playmaker and wingers. But each to their own.
i prefer bale over nacho -who is nacho, i don't even... bale and di maria at the same wing, opponents have no chance, if bale has full condition. balta and amrabat are really bad players -i mean it, they're not better than me, if they play at the same wing, madrid will destroy them. 0-2 madrid win.
It will not surprise me if Galatasaray take point from this match. If Villareal can draw with R.Madrid ( 2:2 last round La Liga) why not Galatasaray with huge support of their amazing fans? Real is playing with very poor defence as I seen last match in Villareal.
Return of the Saint is the highlight of the game boosting our morales for a important tie ,under extreme pressure of away galatasaray fans how we manage ourself will be interesting to see especially after the slip up at el madrigal .. Terim is overconfident of beating us , dear its not the same side from last year, things have changed & you will see how Hala Madrid!
