I'm not arguing that English players are better than Spanish, that's stupid, just the PL is stronger than La Liga now because of all the talent the mid table teams can buy with new tv deal compared to La Liga.
Real & Barca are too good for other teams hence the dominance ,it would have been the same scenario if they were playing in epl...what depth?! It was arsenal-utd for title b4 , then cfc-utd ,then now city-utd , isnt much challenge as utd are constant ,if you want to see competiriveness check BuLi or Ligue 1 (5 diff champions in 5 years)
Boasting of competitivess doesnt make a league better ,it should yield quality as well...and we all are witnessing quality of epl since past few years at ucl.. champions cant make beyond grp stages in two subsequent season speaks volumes...
Spain is facing severe recession as well their clubs dont have colossal financial security as epl due unequal tv rights distribution resultant talent drain to epl to keep themselves financially viable , if they were able to retain talents & pay them handsomely liga would have boasted of much better track records excluding the big two...future is still of hope though
For the fact the spanish players are level above than english counterpart ,no wonder epl is raiding liga time & time again for spanish re-inforcements even from mid-table & below club not the same scenario with english players fromtheir midtable clubs ,arent silva cazorla michu mata are ruling epl already?! So much for physical football not suited for physically small players cliche..
As matter of fact ,swansea played 6 spanish & 1 english in starting xi shows how english talent is plummetting directlyaffecting england national team & english talent development..even neville was paranoid abt this , fa expresses concern as well
Honestly real havent got the chance to even odds with any of the epl teams since past 5 years including lpool & arsenal who got better of us , barca did & they gave a hiding to utd on two ocassions as well got better of gunners...vs utd we got better as well (as for nani red ,even ferdinand sent off & rafael handball were neglected & jones challenge on adm)
Hopefully we face any english team this season to prove a point ,infact i hope its a liga vs epl battle in knockouts to settle the odds..till then adios amigo
Epl WAS best , at epitome 5 yrs ago quite indomitable which has changed subsequently over the years..that being said liverpool have ebbed in performance since not able to even qualify for ucl , villareal got relegated that season regardless they were playing in CL , they were scrappy anyway , yes chelsea were good avenging barca but earning them notorious tag for their tactics..enjoyed their win though...
The debate in about current scenario since past 4-5 years ,let any epl team face madrid ,barca or even atleti you will make-out yourself the difference..even last season any of th3 epl team failed to cross last 16 & for the fact epl champions in last 2 years (utd | city) failed to cross GROUP STAGES in CL...as i said i'm waiting for liga v epl face off this season but accessing the issues at cfc it would be too early too count chelsea in for a face off.
Real Madrid 0-1 Liverpool, Liverpool 4-0 Real Madrid, Chelsea 3-0 Valencia, Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona, Villarreal 0-3 Man City, Man City 2-1 Villarreal

Rami red card was the turning point , just a week back valencia almost pulled a win against barca ended in 3-2 loss ,they would have given a fight if not for naivity by rami
As far as league is concerned ,la liga is quality who has majoritily got better of english teams in recent past (barca v utd in two finales) madrid vs spurs 4-0) atletico v chelsea (4-1) bilbao embarassing utd @OT & rm vs city last season..
For the fact epl dint even make beyond round of 16 last ucl where liga boasted of 3 teams past 16 (one quarter ,2 semis) La liga is better quality league than epl ,competitiveness doesnt matter if your quality is questionable on champions face off ..& lets not pull off debate which country boasts of mega-talents amongst spain & england ,it would be cringeworthy conclusion for england.. liga > epl anyday atm
A match between a below par - performing Valencia and Swansea who were playing at their best. Swansea did 19 shots at goal and managed 93% pass accuracy, with 69% ball possession, better than their stats against West Brom (their only win so far in the EPL), with 12 shots, 90% PA, and 58% possession.
The sending off of Rami might have been the reason of this, but I expect more from Valencia despite the sent off.
Sloppy defending by Valencia, seems like not giving their all in this match. Swansea managed to get 81% of their long ball to their player, which also contribute to their aerial duels huge advantage (80% to 20% of Valencia). Need to improve in the 2nd half, since their mids seemed to have difficulties in making chances with such a little time with the ball (0 key pass in the 1st half)

Real Madrid and Barcelona aren't the only teams in the league! Overall PL>>La Liga in depth and quality again, Spanish teams are too broke.

Cringeworthy performance by los che , wont be surprised if they near relegation if January window isnt availed to upgrade
Premier League>> La Liga
