  • England should really play different style of football. starting from coach and exchange to younger players.

  • Imagine if the United Kingdom were to play as a country, like all other WC participants. They'd have Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in their lineup. Bale is the type of player who'd become a superstar on the world stage, like his teammate Benzema has for France. Instead, the two Welch players will never get a chance to be in the World Cup, and the English remains sub-optimal.

  • Rooney MOTM? Lmfao, he was abysmal before the goal, this rating system is heavily flawed.

  • @Miike Agreed he was decent but not MOTM and Gerrard doesn't even deserve a "ZERO" if you are talking about his performance for England last night though still provided a valuable assist to his Liverpool mate. Just not the right team unfortunately for him.

  • stupid english defense

  • noooooice

  • c'mon who scored do yourselfs justice and put a little e next to gerrards name, everyone else saw it!1

  • fair play!!

  • @bungalow26 They did it!

  • Gerrard was England's best player on the Euro 2 years ago. Just saying with no particular conclusion.

  • I bet some "bloke" is setting these ratings

  • @ASR Learn some math and you'll understand.

  • Cahill 7.8? Plays against Suarez, knows him and still leaves he alone on the 2nd goal. Very nice Cahill, very nice.

  • @berneto He left him offside intentionally.

  • i think that gerrard doesn't deserved a final career like this

  • @KingSchultz On the Euros 2 years ago Gerrard was England's best player. Just saying.

  • @KingSchultz he could still play one or two year at high levels. don't think he will win any trophies though... anyway he chose himself this kind of career. If he would have left Liverpool for Barca years ago maybe the things were different. now he will be reminded only by the Liverpool fans

  • @MoshEne im not a liverpool fan, but i will never forget him, i love\d this champ

  • Gerrard shocking!,,,, let's players run past him like he wasn't even there! Where for the first goal he should of took the player down and took a yellow card but instead he makes a weak effort and let's them run at are defence! Second goal well nothing much to say if carvani heads it on Suarez would of been offside! Sturrridge was missing the whole game hiding on the left wing! Henderson is clueless should of play Milner! Gerrard Henderson makes a weak midfield!

  • @Dos Wow, this is the most evident United fan ever. Sturridge was our best player you fucking mong, Johnson was good, Henderson played well second half, Gerrard was very poor defensively, but was still passing the ball very well

  • I think Gerrard thought he was playing against Chelsea lol

  • Nobody Expects The Uruguayan Inquisition.

  • English are optimistic; they still believe they can qualify to the next round. lol

  • Why no error lead to goal for gerrard? is he your pet whoscored?

  • @commandozap He couldn't fucking reach It, It's not an error, he could do nothing about It

  • @commandozap Cahill left Suárez alone. That was the real mistake

  • No neutral loves england , everyone delighted to see them get knocked out !

  • Baines and Welbeck were terrible. Why play with 3 strikers? Lallana should've started or even Barkely.

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • England should change their logo from three lions to the faces of Hogdson, Moyes and Heskey...all with "deer in headlight" expression...priceless

  • HAHA, I'd pay to see that.

  • Where is the Gerrard assist?

  • @RelentlessPressure sarcasm alert!

  • @RelentlessPressure he didn't have one. The assist belonged to glen johnson

  • @kamso dude, the assist for the 2nd goal of Suarez... You really don't understand sarcasm

  • @Matelli I now see lol

  • Why no Gerrard error? Haven't seen it yet but heard he made one if not two errors for the goals? Either way, Joe Hart is a terrible goalkeeper, no better than Robert Green when the latter was at his best. Simply not 'world class' as he is proclaimed to be!

  • @ronaldinyo gerrard did not make an error. There wasn't really an individual error.

  • @kamso No, having seen the replay it was definitely an error. Missed headers/interceptions count as errors as far as I'm aware so I'm surprised there isn't one for Gerrard (2nd goal) and one for Jagielka (1st goal).

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • Suarez has virtually moved closer to play at bernabeu.

  • Gerrard does it again. Goodbye

  • The amount of chances Rooney has had at this World Cup he could've virtually won this years Golden Boot already. Gerrard was dreadful and I guess his rating is as high as 7 because of his beautiful assist to Suarez on the second goal. I think he forgot he was playing for England and not Liverpool.

  • @TheFactsProvider Not to mention Rooney, rated 8 despite again being abysmal for most of the game

  • @TheFactsProvider lol

  • Still don't understand what roy hodgsons style of play or philosophy is

  • @morningstar pretty similar to David Moyes

  • where is that idiot Myeoh92 to tell me that the stats and rating on this site aren't completely rubbish? How can Suarez and Rooney have the same rating?

  • Gerard is having the worst months in his professional career.

  • @El_Duderino the curse of the 2005 CL final. he was not supposed to win that game

  • @MoshEne And also curse of Santiago Canizares - the slipping one.

  • Cavani has 2 assists

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • No, he does not.

  • @Wall the knock on for Suarez's second came off Gerrard, not Cavani

  • Suarez gets the same note as Rooney? Come on, son ... Rooney was terrible.

  • @El_Duderino Exactly. The guy couldn't even score a header from 6 inches out with an empty goal.

  • @TheFactsProvider Still, i could have been worse. Messi would get 9.6 for Rooney's performance.

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • @mcyeoh92 why, you mad..funny

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • @El_Duderino lol

  • Cavani has 2 assists this is BS.

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • @Mike.PSG No, Gerrard stole his second assist.

  • @Mike.PSG Lol I guess Rooney is the next best player after Messi.

  • It was one of the best match I've ever seen. Suarez only 7.9?

  • @jareczka Colombia Ivory coast earlier today was a better game

  • The game was fine, but far from "best".

  • @El_Duderino Everyone likes sth else. :) I've seen better match, but the pace of the match was really good

  • @jareczka Well, then your new to football :p.

  • @jareczka Best match ? ?

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • stupid hogdson

  • @Thanh How on earth can you blame him?

  • Ta ta lads.

  • Nice "assist" Stevie G. Letting everything slip this year aren't you.

  • hogdson is a fckn idiot ...that gerrard henderson midfield didnt work against italy and today either....england tried to attack with 4 players.... ofc the couldn't score....

  • @myeoh92 nice, you'll just get banned :)

  • this is a 'Suarez Effect'

  • HE DID IT. HE FINALLY FREAKIN DID IT!!

  • Sturridge is a cheat. Constantly diving.

  • @Wall He was one of the best English players.

  • @Wall People talk about Suarez but Sturridge's diving is taking over. Disgusting.

  • Bye bye England! See you in 4 years

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • England are playing worse than Russia.

  • Que golazo! Suareez

  • GOLAZOOOO SUAREZ !!!!!

  • A header from 6 inches out with an empty goal and Rooney still can't score.

  • England much weaker than against Italy.

  • England much weaker than against Italy

  • Good Plan For Uruguay

  • 2-1 England

  • Uruguay 2-1

  • @interxvita Good call.

  • If Wilshere plays again I'm emigrating to... anywhere...

  • ENGLAND IS WINNING

  • @faith.nyambura.566 Hopefully ! They played very well against Italy, whereas Uruguay sucked and played terrible football.

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • So who is going home 2night?

  • @commandozap Uruguay

  • I beg for Southampton players Otherwise its done

  • Fucile will play instead of Maxi. Last time he played not only did he defend better than Maxi, he was making bombing runs up the right flank. Lugano out is a blessing in disguise too, Coates or Giminez will do much better with the speed and will handle attacks better. And as for Suarez, there were all kind of claims that he wasn't "match fit" when he came back from his ban - he scored 2 goals right away. Remember this is not an average human we are talking about. He will add inspiration to the team, bring much needed creativity, draw defenders, and create Havoc, even if he isn't 100% - this is still the player that the entire england squad voted as player of the year! Will be a cracking game though. I think Suarez has more motivation here than anyone, so Uruguay to win 3-1.

  • @Papichulo wat

  • @Papichulo Suarez training everyday for months before he is "allowed" to play is different than being injured, take that into consideration and the fact that he has never really performed against big teams or in big games. He is still yet to score against the top 4 EPL teams and considering his current condition I don't think he will be enough of an influence to win them the game, 3-1 England. Let's hope i'm right.

  • @MeladT "never really performed against big teams or in big games". You're just repeating something you've heard from the mindless talking heads in the British media. Would the Copa América Final count as a big game?

  • uruguay 2 england 3 , rooney hattrick, adios suarez..

  • @SoccerAnalyst lol

  • @SoccerAnalyst shrek won't touch the ball, never mind score a hat trick

  • @BigDong lol

  • @SoccerAnalyst Rooney hat trick? I'd be surprised if he managed to make a single pass. Should be dropped

  • Lallana and Shaw should play

  • People need to realise although Suarez is fit he isn't match fit just yet, he hasn't played since his last premiere league game and might some game time before he performs like he does in the EPL. Let's see how this goes, 3-1 England is my prediction.

  • @MeladT he may not be fit but he's playing against england, not germany.

  • Suarez to give England the Norwich treatment

  • Suarez will kill England.

  • ------Rooney-------- Lallana- Barkley-Milner --Henderson-Gerrard--- Shaw--Jag-cahill-Jones Subs: Sturidge ,sterling and a defensive one I am all for all attack, Yes but we need to leverage our physical resources. Teams like Uruguay have some world class players..Cavani and Suarez but do they have a team that can slog 90 mins. Roy should put a team out there to smother them for an hour and then blow them out of the water towards the end with the ace in the sleeve

  • @spursman Too risky if Uruguay get first goal and chasing the game doesn't pay off!

  • suarez hat-trick

  • Uruguay will win 2-1 or 2-0.Suarez will score.

  • Gary Linekar got 10 goals in 12 games in 2 World Cups for England (1986, 1990). He got the golden boot in Mexico 1986. Wayne Rooney has never scored a World Cup goal.

  • @RGM Rooney was the only reason we got a goal, considering he was played out of his position I think an assist is fair contribution, he also ran the most out of any player on the pitch, which shows his willingness and dedication.

  • Drop Rooney, Sterling at 10, Welbeck or Lallana left, Ox right

  • Drop Rooney, put Lallana. Let's see how they play without him, he doesn't have to play every game. But I doubt Hodgson has the balls to do that.

  • Rooney should play behind Sturridge. Sterling right and Welbeck left. If England are trailing in the second half then they need to bring Lambert on this time.

  • England 2-1

  • Impact of Subs: Barkley made a positive impact off the bench but there were times where Rooney accommodated the same areas, Barkley is not the most tactical aware player but offers a different kind of approach but needs to be managed accordingly. Wilshere's substitution was bewildering, with the midfielder still lacking match fitness and form. It was surprising not to see Lambert make an appearance with the need for goals high on the agenda. // Rooney - should Rooney be dropped? Rooney is a player capable of creating something out of nothing, this is a rare commodity to have in a major tournament & this is a major factor on why I think he should start, not to mention he is probably our best player technically. The problem is finding a system that suits him, whilst still getting the most out of Sturridge and Sterling. // so 4-3-3 seems to be the most logical option going forward

  • @Dinesh Come on England

  • There were some encouraging signs from England's first performance and I fully expect them to progress from this group. A few points should be considered though: Formation - Despite it being seen as a 4-2-3-1, it was actually almost a 4-2-4 with the front 4 all attacking players who prefer to play in a more central position. This left us lacking width at times and resulted in only 1 accurate cross (Rooney's assist). Midfield - Italy are a side intent on playing possession football & looked to overrun the midfield, this exposed Gerrard's defensive capabilities. Roy Hodgson should seriously consider dropping an attacker for an extra man in midfield for support - or instruct for a more disciplined performance from one of his attackers. Gerrard's influence, set piece ability and quality means he must start & Henderson's energy, ball retention & forwards runs are also crucial to England's midfield. And the addition of Milner or Lallana could offer a better balance to the midfield
