Team News
Germany
Poland
- Germany are expected to make wholesale changes from the side that thrashed Gibraltar 7-0 in their last outing back in June.
- Karim Bellarabi, Jerome Boateng and Bastian Schweinsteiger are the only players expected to retain their place in the starting XI for this massive victory that is packed with historical significance.
- Mesut Ozil and Marco Reus are injured for this one.
- Emre Can will play at left back
- Lukasz Fabianski has been in impressive form since joining Swansea, but he is set to miss out to his former Arsenal teammate Wojciech Szczesny here.
- A point would suit the group leaders here, so they could pack the midfield and look to pick Germany off on the break if possible.
- If Adam Nawłka opts to go with two strikers then Arkadiusz Milik will partner Robert Lewandowski up front.
Can can't play right back. Boateng had an amazing game. Hummels was solid. Hector was great. Schweinsteiger had a poor first half but was better in the second half. Kroos was ok. Bellerabi was bad. Özil was decent. Müller had a decent first half but a poor second half. Götze was brilliant. Gündogan was also amazing and should definitely start the next game.
Gundogan was so good. I think he is back to his best form!
Hardly surprising given Loew is their coach but this really is a delicate Germany team. Every single tackle which made slight contact with a German was sharply followed by a look to the ref and protestation from said player. It's pathetic to see from a nation which counts Matthaeus, Beckenbauer, Mertesacker and Kohler amongst their 100-cap winners.
@SteveHyland hohoho. Matthaus, Beckenbauer and mertesacker? Seriously do you really consider Mertesacker as good these guys? U either too stupid or u know nothing abt footaball. Mertesacker my God how low can u go? Is it another one ur inklish league promotion scheme that u so shamelessly pursue in ur free time? I have never downvoted u in my life. But now im gonna downvoting u, considering stupidity u did rite now. Hey here a quote from the guy ritichie flick's "Snatch". "You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity."
@Ffaris- Yet again, your lack of English skills has resulted in completely missing the point of he comment. It is pointless explaining anything to you because the explanation itself wont be understood.
@SteveHyland i know u got answer for my question? Becoz you lack intellectual capacity to answer them. That why go for lack of english skill as sad excuse for not answering my question. On inklish subject by the way some of the most developed countries don't even speak inklish. That would include Japan, France, Brazil, Korea, Infact most of europe don't even speak english. So next time you non-paid fa goon. Comeback with a better excuse beside poor Inklish ;). If you can't talk intellectually than admit it don't make excuses loser.
@SteveHyland- *the comment.
Really feel Poland should have scored more this game and, although the defending was at times shambolic, I reckon it could have easily been a draw.
@Maniac- Poland probably should've scored more but there was the shot from Goetze which hit the post that literally an inch the other way and it would've gone in plus the almost constant pressure from Germany in the 2nd half. I was actually disappointed with Poland. I expected them to be really aggressive and try to stop Germany playing rather than just watch the ball being passed around like Pellegrini's City side did against Barcelona.
hey @SteveHyland/mr. modern family fanboy why don't u visit article on roberto soldado by ben mcaleer rite now. I got a surprise for u ;). Yup i was the one who liked ur comment again.
hey mr. family fanboy why don't u visit article on roberto soldado by ben mcaleer rite now. I got a surprise for u ;)
@Maniac No,not really. Don`t know what you have seen there but if both teams had converted all their chances, the game would have ended 6-3. Poland had no chance considering the whole match, only just before halftime it was something in the air for them .
Götze with a world class goal!
@neumi17 i didn't see it .. how did he score the goal ?
@Yman Second goal of him nice too
@Yman Messi like...he penetrated the box, dribbeled around a defenceman with very close ball control and than laserbeamed the ball into the goal.
7 current or former Bayern players in the starting line up
@neumi17 9 : Can + Hummels, from Bayern youth :)
@neumi17 8 -> Hummels from the Bayern youth
poland have really developed throught the past few years and they look like a tough team to face
Germany lineup: Neuer - Can, Boateng, Hummels, Hector - Kroos, Schweinsteiger - Müller, Özil, Bellarabi - Götze
Germany 2X1 Poland
and Reus MOM
@koziol.mutant lol, he is injured
Podolski out of form, Bellarabi is young and brainles raider so far, Mustafi is stil a joke, so there are weak spots in German team, they can be good prospects in some years. As for Poland they were lucky in first match agaisnt germany when many players were injured and who played made shots straight at Szczesny. This time it will be different but this new-look Germany is still unbalanced team, so agree, narrow win for Germany 2-1.
@koziol.mutant " Podolski out of form ..." Hey, that was a good one. Podolski has been out of form since 2010 ! It is a miracal that he was still called up for the last 30 caps .
@koziol.mutant well ur prediction almost came true. So kudos ur prediction.
@koziol.mutant Bellarbi has proven himself in the bundesliga mustafi is young but plays experienced and we all know what podolski is capable of yes there are some weak spots but at 2018 world cup the german youths would have developed into incredible players
Poland loves Milik. I'll be surprised if he didn't play. Aside from Lewandowski and Krychowiak, he's the surest bet (and them mostly because they're so good in club, cause people aren't happy with his national team performance), and Glik maybe. Fabianski has been okay, so I expect him to continue playing. Szczesny has been a god in this very fixture a year ago, but he can be a death wish as well as savior depending on the day.
@ogqozo dude ur polak? I don't believe that? Glad to know this place is now filled with people diverse background.
I hope Löw doesn't plan Mustafi as a long-term RB. He is a great player, but just doesn't fit that position. Btw. What is Miliks ranking in the Polish national team?
@Kzotov Milik is a player of first team even if Poland doesn't play 2 strikers, there is still place for Milik as CAM or false winger. Fact is Nawałka was Milik's coach in Górnik so it is a next reason to keep Milik in play, as Nawałka promoted him in club and national team.
Löw said Götze will play.
Germany 1-1 Poland. Poland always proved stubborn to Germany.
I believe in Poland but it will surely be the hardest game in last years. We need lots of engagement and luck in defending if we want, at least, to draw. I think playing two strikers would be better to create chances to break Germany's defence. Lewandowski has to take responsibility for our attack and raise his game to his best, other way, it will be really difficult. The same goes with with defensive midfielders - they need to play matches of their lives. Providing the promotion through this game...it is challenging, but not impossible.
Germany will tear poland apart
@glenbayern i like ur passion towards bayern and germany nt as whole :)
@glenbayern Hhm, don`t know.... I think this is gonna be a tight match with a close result, 2-1 or so .
3-1 for germany
@glenbayern i don't get why so many down votes? If ppl put bets based on @glenbayern prediction they would definitely win a lot of money today. So for 7 guys who downvoted him i feel sorry for u guys. U just lost some serious money today ;).
