England team was hopeless. Last minutes they were like kids in the darkness. Switzerland should have beaten them. Fcuking goal referee have not seen that hand ball of Cahill? Seriously?
Glad to see Welbeck get a couple of goals. The 2nd was a nice finish. He got in good positions throughout the match and is deserving of the WhoScored MotM. I just hope he carries his goal scoring form into the game against Man City.
I was very pleased with Delph's performance after a couple of rash challenges early on. It's amazing he's only 24. It seems like he's been around for a decade!
The only real downside for me was Stones at right back. He doesn't have the mobility or pace to play there regularly imo. I'd like Clyne to be given a chance in the next England game.
@SteveHyland Hodgson has some fascination with playing centre-halves at right-back for some reason. Phil Jones, Chris Smalling & now John Stones. Even when Johnson is injured Clyne still can't get a call-up.
@DomKennedy- Wilshere is easily our most talented midfielder so it's worth persevering with him. In 2 years' time, with (hopefully) 2 injury-free premier league seasons under his belt, he could be a star of Euro 2016.
It's also difficult to criticise his performance today when it's the first time he's played in the Pirlo role. It's not his best position and I feel the team shape/balanced was sacrificed for the sake of putting Rooney in the team and Sterling in the number 10 role.
We should really be playing 4-2-3-1 but that'll mean Rooney gets dropped and Hodgson made him the captain so that wont happen.
well that was not beacause an injury, if he'd been injured he wouldn't have started the game, he is not that important to play him even if he is injured..
At the moment Lambert appears as the best performing English player. Who scored why do you hate England so? Glad to see wellbeck got the nod over wellbeck
the Swiss might go with Seferović, who has had a good start to the season rather than Drmic, who hasn't featured much for Leverkusen yet. Either way, this Switzerland should prove a real test for Hodgson's men. I would actually make Switzerland favourites for this one. England's team is full of out of form players bar Cahill, Sterling, Stones & Henderson
England need to remember that this is a Swiss team that took Argentina to extra time in the world cup, which meant dealing with a more skilled strike force of Messi, Aguero, Higuain and Di Maria. Players like Shaqiri need to be locked down and if the lineup stays as predicted then I suspect England will have a tough time dealing with him. If England do not manage to gel as a team then I think we'll be looking at a narrow Swiss win today.
@Maniac- A more skilled strike force on paper for sure but in reality it was a strike force which included an injured/not yet recovered Aguero, a can't-be-arsed-to-move-more-than-5-yards-to-get-the-ball Higuain and a severely out of form DiMaria. That left Messi to do 75% of the work and nobody is THAT good.
This is a Swiss team that could've also lost by double figures to France in the same tournament.
In between the 2 extremes is where they lie. A decent team who at home can cause problems to the big teams (not saying England are one of those incidentally) but aren't world beaters themselves.
I'm a big fan of Fabian Schaer though. I think he could be top drawer. Can't believe Djourou and v.Bergen are ahead of him in the pecking order.
Sturridge is injured! Switz FBs v.dangerous plus Shaqiri. 1-1 is the kind of hopeful results you'd like to get but I think it will be more like 2-1 or 2-0 Switzerland. We'll see.
In the preview above it says 'Danny Welbeck will be in competition with Danny Welbeck to play on the flank, though if the former plays a change of formation would be needed'. Competing against yourself, that's always best, innit? Best way to push yourself to higher levels
how did Rooney and Jones both get 7.4 ratings both were awful, as was Delph
England team was hopeless. Last minutes they were like kids in the darkness. Switzerland should have beaten them. Fcuking goal referee have not seen that hand ball of Cahill? Seriously?
@ozzzzy it hit him in the leg while he was sliding and then hit his arm, how could he have prevented that exactly?
@ozzzzy by the way the game should've stopped already coz drmic was offside

How many poor performances does Jack Wilshere have to put in before he is dropped?
@DomKennedy- Wilshere is easily our most talented midfielder so it's worth persevering with him. @DomKennedy lets totally forget about henderson's awful performance and concentrate all our anger on wilshere.
@may7even Henderson was playing with an injury so he was really only 70%. When he was involved he played well but that didn't happen too often.
well that was not beacause an injury, if he'd been injured he wouldn't have started the game, he is not that important to play him even if he is injured..
lambert : playing 5 minutes, 1 assist 1 yellow card 1 offside lol
@fafaq And 1 touch
Go wellbeck, do glad you were picked above yourself.
England has to wait for San Marino in order to score a goal
@neumi17 By the looks Switzerland will be waiting for San Marino to score a goal as well.
Whoever is controlling the top performers above - aren't England players allowed in the list?
At the moment Lambert appears as the best performing English player. Who scored why do you hate England so? Glad to see wellbeck got the nod over wellbeck
expecting one sided match.... swiss likely to dominate there
2-0
Predication: Switzerland 2-2 England
Switzerland team looks so strong, maybe they will win 2-1 or 2-0, (Drmic and Inler will score)
the Swiss might go with Seferović, who has had a good start to the season rather than Drmic, who hasn't featured much for Leverkusen yet. Either way, this Switzerland should prove a real test for Hodgson's men. I would actually make Switzerland favourites for this one. "If we can't beat this third rate amateurish footballing nation, I'll be ashamed to call myself Swiss" -some guy on BBC
1-1
Anyone know sturridge's fitness?
@kangs out for this match & almost certainly for the Villa game
Welbeck challenging himself for a place on the flank?
Switzerland wins 2-1 Lichsteiner with one assist
3-1 to the Swiss.
I hope England get Hammered like 4-0 so Hodgson finally gets sacked. Although I doubt even a thumping like that would push him out the door.

Not sure if I would pick Danny Welbeck over Danny Welbeck, but it's a close call.
@ronaldinyo I would rather prefer Danny Welbeck over Danny Welbeck. He got skills.
In the preview above it says 'Danny Welbeck will be in competition with Danny Welbeck to play on the flank, though if the former plays a change of formation would be needed'. Competing against yourself, that's always best, innit? Best way to push yourself to higher levels
Bundesliga vs. Premier League !!
It'll be a tight affair for sure, but Switzerland should be able to push for all 3 points at home. They are capable of that.
Henderson and Wilshere cannot play at the same time without a DM behind them.
"Danny Welbeck will be in competition with Danny Welbeck to play on the flank, though if the former plays a change of formation would be needed." ?
