Team News

  • Benfica enter the second-leg with a 3-1 advantage and Jorge Jesus should have a fully fit squad to chose from, bar the suspended Silvio. Maxi Pereira will likely come in at right-back.
  • Other than that, Jorge Jesus could be tempted to name a similar XI to the side that won at White Hart Lane last Thursday.
  • Rúben Amorim, Nicolás Gaitán and Enzo Peréz are all one yellow card away from suspension.
  • Spurs have now lost their last 3 games and run the risk of seeing their season peter out, with Tim Sherwood needing a minor miracle to see his side progress.
  • The north London side face a defensive injury crisis, with no fit centre-backs. Tim Sherwood has admitted players will be fielded out of position.
  • Paulinho, Lloris and Adebayor haven't travelled, so it will be a severely weakened Spurs side out.

Prediction

  • The tie is Benfica's to lose following their 3-1 win at White Hart Lane last week. The Portuguese side are unbeaten at home in the league and Europe this season and enter the fixture on the back of a 4-2 win over Nacional.
  • Spurs fell to a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, though with the pressure off, the team can play with more freedom. However, the chances of them breaking Benfica's home record this term is slim.
  • The hosts should have enough about them to compound the English side to a 4th successive defeat in all competitions.

  • Benfica were quite lucky today, having said that Spurs were lucky to only lose 3-1 in the last leg. Overall the tie went to the right team.

  • Very lucky Benfica.

  • Fuck! Poor challenge from Sandro. Benfica will leave with a 2-2 draw but they should've lost maybe 3-1 or so.

  • Wow, that foul on Kane should've been a PK. Damn.

  • CHADLI! YOU FUCKING LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD! OMG.

  • Credit to Benfica they're a great team and credit to the young lads for being up to the challenge. Great goal from Chadli!

  • 2-0

  • Benfica to WIN---> 2-1

  • Valencia have much more talented players for the players they sold - juan bernat , alcacer , fede , vargas , piatti , barragan , perreira etc . Pizzi has completely changed djukic blueprint. Valencia will be bought by one of the 4 bidders in this summer , all billi9nare groups , before summer so instead of selling talents like villa silva mata etc they can re-inforce more talented lads this summer. Money wont be their age-old problem anymore

  • @commandozap um.. valencia want a money? nowaday, they sell some player(Postiga, Pabón, Guardado... etc) (I'm not European)
