We need to go on a run of victories now. Winning all 5 games (in all competitions) in November should be the short-term target. This team needs to prove there is "belief", "team spirit" and all the other sports clichés Wenger churns out or it'll be another disappointing season for the Gooners.
@SteveHyland- You moron Steve! I meant 6 games in November. That's what a win in the prem does to Arsenal fans. Ha ha
Sanchez and 10 worthless passengers, essentially.
@Skrong- Well, Welbeck had a few bright moments and the defence was rarely tested but yeah with that front 4, we should've won more comfortably. Cazorla & Chamberlain especially weren't great, not bad per se but you expect more at the highest level. I'm just thankful for a prem win to be honest. The performance can come later. It's never been a problem winning when playing badly, we usually specialise in the vice versa!
Thank god for Sanchez.
Great match from Alexis; he's closing my mouth day after day, I had plenty of doubts when he signed off for gunners.
@dib- Why's that? He's been world class since his final season with Udinese (2010/11).
@SteveHyland Maybe because in Barsa he had a lackluster perfomance overall.
@dib He had one of the best ratio goal in game / minute played of Europe last season...
after 8-0 lose to soton, coach gus poyet will do what all he can to win or to be sacked and arsenal not in good form as well so it will 2-1 for sunder
I hope Chambers is moved to right centre back with Bellerin right back. Having Monreal in the centre has been disastrous, surely even Wenger can see that.
@SteveHyland Chamber is too aggressive an commits a lot of foul if he has to defend only. Which can be disastrous for team if he gets a red card.
@hasan- For sure he's too impulsive atm but we don't have much choice in that area and Merteacker obviously feels more comfortable with Chambers in the centre than Monreal judging by the 2 games he's played with Nacho. Chambers has the natural positioning and reading of the game to play at centre back and actually has looked out of his depth at right back in the games he's played this season.
@SteveHyland who scored doesn't see that, as they rate high higher as CB than as LB
@Khanya- That says more about the WhoScored ratings system than Monreal's level of performance in the 2 games he's played at CB. I would be confident that anyone who knows about football that saw the games against Hull and Anderlecht would realise Monreal can't play at CB. It's not his fault, he's a left back playing out of position and doesn't have the instinct to play there. This is 1 of the 2 problems Wenger failed to address in the summer transfer window and it's costing us points like not having a top quality defensive midfielder.
my motm vote goes to sanchez, 1-3 with sanchez, ramsey and chambers to score.
1-1, draw
