Team News
Man Utd
Aston Villa
- Jonny Evans remains suspended and Chris Smalling was forced off on international duty due to illness so he is a doubt.
- Marcos Rojo is back available and could return to partner Phil Jones at centre-back.
- Elsewhere changes are likely to be kept to a minimum, so the likes of Di Maria and Falcao will have to make do with a place on the bench once more.
- Tim Sherwood has a lot of absentees to have to contend with, with Jores Okore the latest to be in doubt for the game due to injury.
- Either he or Ron Vlaar will be needed so one of the two may have to play through the pain barrier, with Ciaran Clark the only fully fit centre-back in the squad.
- Tom Cleverley is ineligible to face his parent club and it seems as though Carlos Sanchez is ahead of Ashley Westwood in the pecking order at the moment to replace him in the midfield.
Herrera is a great player. He has potential to become one of the best midfielders of Man United history.
Amazing performance from Herrera, MotM?
Day of great goals in Premier League.
Utd should probably go with a diamond midfield in lieu of quality wingers. Blind sitting (I know he has to play left back today cos of injuries), Herrera and Carrick either side and Mata in the 10. If Falcao wasn't such a monumental flop, they could put him up top with Rooney up top but I would stick Fellaini up there. He's in excellent goal scoring form atm and let's face it, they don't have a better option. At least Van Gaal has had the balls to drop DiMaria and put their best passer in the team, that decision has been rewarded with a goal so Herrera will be dropped next week.
Di Maria is benched? what in the world
@LLCAN- Yeah because he's been amazing this season...
@SteveHyland Really?? This isn't a byproduct of bad coaching decisions? Di Maria comes on an almost immediately provides an assist. Man U don't deserve Di Maria.
@LLCAN- Well, he has been played out of position a number of times so I feel for him in that regard but that doesn't excuse him doing close to nothing when he gets the ball. He has been a hindrance to the team rather than an asset for the majority of the season and although he was good at Real Madrid, you have to go with your in-form players at this stage of the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play well next season however.
Young has been excelent this season, so i'm not surprised he's starting.
Easy wins here for United...Maybe Falcao can get a run out on this one and get himself in the score sheet.
I would not be upset at all if we started a front three of Januzaj - Falcao - Di Maria. Let these guys have a field day against Villa. Help them find their form.
So United just beat Spurs and Liverpool and are playing their best football this season. They also have the best home record in the league. Surely that 1-1 prediction must be an April fools joke?
MU - Aston Villa 1:1
Cleverly can't play? It is not fair, let him play please
@james.ooi.904 life aint fair, rules are rules
@erastus Maybe Man Utd can win easier if he play =P
1-1? Is that an error? Even in the prediction writeup it seemed you'd be going for a comfortable Man Utd win.
3-0
While I would love to see Villa get something out of this game can only see a Man U win. 3-0 Carrick Motm
ManU 4:1 ;)
3-0
ha ha ha
i see a man utd win here
I predict man utd will end the weekend in 2nd position.
@erastus So your predicting Man City will lose to Crystal Palace? Lol doubt that would ever happen at this stage of EPL... Worst could happen is draw and even then if Arsenal and Liverpool draw Man City still 2nd. Man City by 2+ and Man Utd will win easily.
@MareSerb Crystal Palace is on good form, they play very well lately. It is not too shock if they beat Shitty.
@MareSerb man city will play on monday. thats why explicitly said by the end of the weekend
@erastus you're absulutely right, I think so too. Arsenal-Liverpool 1-1
@bogdan0904 ok arsenal outwit us this time around
